The royal family of the House of Saud (the dictators of Saudi Arabia) use their "Public Investment Fund" to buy into all sorts of things to make sure that the royal family stays obscenely wealthy after the oil runs out. They use that money for a lot of investment but also for things that try to paint them in a better light. One of those is the LIV Golf League. It was a privately owned golf tournament which was setup to compete against the player-owned and player-focused PGA Tour
