Damn, sucks for them. Should've stayed in space.

Some can make a giant sea creature either subtly swim near or eat it completely

Looks like NASA is a fan of The White Stripes.

Splashdown achieved? So they fixed the toilet issue?

I still find it crazy that it took 10 days. In comparison, it takes about a week to drive across the US.

I’m a little sad. It was a nice thing among *waves arms*

Well count your Ws
...
That's a successful mission. You guys sure you didn't want to be in space for longer? Last one we could've kept you off this Hellhole

A little out of the loop! What was the mission? I remember something about the moon, but were they landing, or..?

11 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This was a manned test flight of the SLS rocket and Orion capsule. It’s a follow-up to Artemis 1 which was an unmanned test flight. There were four crew members aboard Artemis II. Their mission lasted nine days, wherein they flew to the moon, achieving a greater distance from the earth than any other humans before (past missions to the moon did not go as far past it). Data from this mission will lead to fine tuning and design changes for subsequent missions.

Dude, how hot do you think Freud's mom was? She must have been an absolute smoke show. Either that or he did waaaaaay too much cocaine.

There are people I know who think the mission was fake. It's so frustrating/annoying, but, you know, according to them, they're really s̶m̶r̶t̶... ̶s̶m̶r̶a̶t̶... smart.

Reading some of the comments and conspiracies about it makes me cringe. People that just have no clue how stuff works and are too ignorant to learn.

8 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yep, I hear ya. Drives me nuts.

If the US faked the Moon landing, the Soviets would've proclaimed it loudly for all the world to hear, complete with proof.
Instead they scrapped their Lunar program, which they didn't publicly acknowledge until after Glasnost.

I was laughibg at how the local radio dj was “5:07 will be the time amazing they know that” DUDE. You have no idea! Over 30000kph and they hit the earth over India a skipped like a rock on a pond over the pacific before touching down within a very small radius. 5:07. Gtfo

Next mission they are in Earth orbit testing out the moon lander etc.

TRump era space race, no thank you. I support the people aboard but not the mission to distract and drum up false pride in a nation run by a pedophile and rapist.

the Artemis program owes nothing to Trump

10 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

artemis program dates 14 years. all trump did is stand in the way with budget cuts.

8 hours ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The Artemis program predates Drumpf I'm pretty sure... I don't think there's much here he or his admin could take credit for? Not that they wont try ofc...

11 hours ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Going back to the moon was some bullshit from Trump 1.0 and as I recall the consensus at the time was "there isn't anything more for us to learn doing that."

10 hours ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Nope. "It was formally established via Space Policy Directive-1 in 2017." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artemis_program

11 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Huh, my sense of time really is fucked up. I stand corrected!

15 minutes ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Trump did decide that the US has to return to the moon. He did push for an accelerated timeline, especially after it was discovered in Artemis I that the rocket's design was principally flawed and dangerous (e.g. the heat shield failing).
It is his space prestige project and he is ruthless as always in getting the result he wants to see.
To be clear, no credit goes to his administration, they forced NASA to do their bidding and cancel other programs. NASA did a good job within these parameters.

Oh yeah don't forget about the rare earth minerals that they are looking to find on the moon.
