I've never cared who was doing better than me but I personally am doing so much worse than last year.

#1 it is very true to February to go my ex left me after 17 years and last Christmas Eve I put my dog down at 11:00 at night and then heading to get up and make dinner for my family this Christmas was boring but way better than last year.

#1 The half of her face that can be seen looks so much like my ex that I had quick boost of anxiety. That was weird.

People get mad at me when I play against my own best record. I'm not even that good at Mario Kart!

I wouldn't even phrase as Me vs. Me. I would say that it's you hopefully being a slightly better version than you were before. Real change takes time. Be patient.

#1 I tell my kids all the time that you can always do better at something by trying to out-do your best and not trying to out-do someone else. Never use someone else as a yardstick of your ability.

#1 I'm doing worse. Got diagnosed with a debilitating hereditary untreatable neurological condition. My life has changed for the worse. On the plus side I'm now on long term disability and can work on my sewing anytime I'm able to. And my cat loves having me home all day.

Last year me wasn’t doing so hot nor was this year me. I’ve spent the last 2 years in fight or flight. But Im ending the year in a very different place than where I started so next year has so much more potential.

I like lifting others up. It helps me not worry as much about how I'm sinking.

I think a LOT of people are doing worse off this year. But as long as you're breathing, there is hope. Hope for another day, another smile, another laugh, another joy.

#1 last year I was happily married and excited about spending 2025 in a town we'd dreamed about living in.

My wife left me, my house burned down, and I've been on suicide watch since August. Probably going to lose custody of my kids when the divorce gets finalized.

Happy new year.

I'm sorry to hear that. You have a lot of threats and injury to survive. But so far you have survived. I hope you continue to do so.

#1 Excellent outlook!

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a lot of cautious optimism about a lot of things at this time last year. All of that evaporated and reinforced why I was cautious. 2025 might actually have been one of the worst years I've seen yet.

#1 ...But I'm not. I'm doing far worse, and i was working a job that didn't respect my skills or capability at the time. I'm paralyzed by depression, unable to even move towards more than making food, sleeping, and reading ol' familiar comfort stuff.

Doing much much worse than last year, but thank you for trying!

#1 that's a wild amount of motivational sayings in one room

#1 reminds me of a memorable line from the TV series MASH: "the only person you gotta be better than is the person you were yesterday".

..... That has been most of my day today. I broke down in tears in front of my kids on christmas morning. Fuck me.

I’m actually worse off than last year.

Far far worse off.

Yep me too

When it's me v me, no matter who wins - I lose.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And you win too. To deal with my caffeine addiction and need for exercise, I created a competition of "sin vs. sin". I only get enough soda for one day. So each day it's a battle. I either get a needed walk, or I avoid unneeded stimulant. I see it as winning each day no matter my decision.

As long as the person you want to be wins and the person you don't want to be loses, it's all good.
Just keep in mind that you won't win all the battles against your former self. There will be days when you lose, and that's okay. All you have to do is try again tomorrow.

Well, that 's me fucked. Thanks.

Fuuuuuuuuuck me from last year was doing so much better

3 months ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

I've been doing worse and worse since like 2018.... And to be honest, even that was a couple year bump in an otherwise downward trending graph.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Last year's me would pity this year's me and offer advice that's impossible to follow because he doesn't know any better.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry. I hope things change around again in the coming year.

3 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

You've done it once; you can do it again. It can get better, and I hope it does for you. Merry Christmas

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

^^ This. I've had money, then been broke, then had WAY more money. House fire. No money. Excrement occurs. The difference is going to be if you get back at it after being knocked down. Also Bankruptcy exists for a reason. Use it, if needed. Don't let pride steal 6 months + of your life.
