So the idea of these massive protests isn't to make Trump care. Like you say, he doesn't have the capacity for that. The point is to make everyone else care. Slowly, more pressure builds up towards the top, until the people around him outs him from his throne. This takes a lot, but simultaneously less than you might think. Once the country stands still, pockets start hurting, politicians are worried about re-elections, etc. people with power will start pushing for a resolution

Approval rating is still 40%, so we're far from out of it. Further, MAGA / GOP seems fine w/ ignoring the Constitution and letting Trump run in 2028. They had no problem w/ ignoring the 14th amendment, so voting alone won't cut it, we need action like this, and more importantly tens of millions of people doing "small" things like running food banks or helping w/ paperwork or babysitting so parents can go out and protest. America will only be saved by Americans working to save our democracy

But I strongly believe that reality we face is that there is a HUGE percentage of the voting population in America that is seeing everything Trump is doing and approves of it. 40% approve, 5% unsure, 55% disapprove, in my opinion, isn't enough to overpower how much the GOP as taken control of gerrymandered districts & the courts. I would love if the President of the United States actually wanted to help w/ the gun violence in Chicago or help with the generations of systemic racism. And while I don't know how to fix complex issues like those (and more), I'm sure as shit that Texas National Guard members who work a day job as a car mechanic or accountant, has absolutely no clue of what Chicago needs
