The only reason I'm on twitter (I refuse to call it x) is because spacex stopped streaming launches on youtube. And even then I only watch the starship launches now.

Irked me so much. Musk did it solely to drive more traffic to X of course, but X has a shitty streaming interface, inadequate live stream visibility + notifications, doesn't support 4K, and is a less stable/reliable platform than YouTube.

I had a Twitter account before Musk. I used to doomscroll, until I figured there were better places to be, and never went back. Then Musk bought it, and I just uninstalled it. Didn't care enough to try to delete my account, so it's probably still there.

You'll find that Bluesky is quite a bit different to Twitter.
There's no algorithm to the following feed.
Hashtags work a bit different.
Most of all, please use alt text when posting images.
Otherwise, most people are pretty decent to each other and those who aren't get blocked.

There's no algorithm.....yet. Let's see what happens after a few years. Imgur started as a really great place years ago. Today it's been sold off to a faceless corporation, every promise to not implement a scheme for profit has been broken within a few years of the promise, and it has ads everywhere if you don't use an ad blocker
But I wholeheartedly agree with you, let's enjoy the new hotness while things are good.

Well, there's a gentle algorithm to the what's hot and discover feeds. I don't generally look at them though, I get enough from all the cool people in already following.

I haven’t spent much time blocking, so perhaps I should. Good call - mine imported a ton of follows and connects from my Instagram account which has virtually every demographic I can think of, so there’s a weird mix
