There is no hate like Christian love.

Christians have done more harm to me than anybody else as far as the Abrahamic ideal is concerned

Thanks Tuna

They don't care

The jokes about how far society would have come without religion holding us back become more relevant every day.

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is 100% true & yet it’s also effectively meaningless to them as they think their religion does so that—or should.

Not one single religious person prone to such behaviors will see this image & go “oh! I never thought about it like that. I’m sorry. I’ll stop.” Their religion literally teaches them to force that religion on others (or at least to force nonbelievers to follow the believers’ rules if the believers can do so through societal control). This is just speaking to one’s own choir.

Although thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife is a good one. We can keep that one right?

Collective morality existed before religion. Fuck off.

It’s never the religion they hate that’s doing that either.

But if my religion doesn't give me power over you in exchange for pretending to be a good person, why are we even doing it. Obviously all of you without religion want to do all the horrible things my religion stops me from doing.

I seem to recall an interview with Penn and Teller where Penn says something along the lines of "I kill and rape all I want to - which is zero."

Your religion does not entitle you to run everything.

Or anything except your own life

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You know that. I know that. Christians and Muslims disagree.

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But if I can't do it, then you can't do it either or it's not fair. :P

That requires them to understand accountability, that's not happening.

and it would also help if they know how to read!

"I’m perfectly happy for people to have these toys and to play with them at home and hug them to themselves and share them with other people who come around and play with the toys. That’s absolutely fine. They are not to make me play with these toys. I will not play with the toys. Don’t bring the toys to my house, don’t say my children must play with these toys. Don’t say my toys (might be a condom) are not allowed by their toys." - Hitch

Subscribed because sniffable content.

Seriously. That's like a vegan or someone yelling at me for eating chicken. You don't tell me what to eat or not to eat. I'm a happy atheist, have been since I had the reverend call up 'the sick and infirm' to 'be healed' and I walked my cardomyoptic, noonan's syndrome havin' little ass up there of my OWN volition at like 7 or 8, wasn't even asked what was wrong with me. Just touched on the forehead, made to lie down and then get back up. NOTHING happened. Started questioning everything.

"I won't force my fucking ideology on other people"—read that out loud 10 times in your room... and stop doing it... if you hadn't smeared your sh1t all over every book, every movie, and people's daily lives, Trump would never have come to power

But they aren't trying to prohibit you! They are trying to *save* you from eternal damnation! /s

But for real, this is how they see things. They see it as if they were keeping a child from touching the stove top. They can hand wave any rebuttal with "they are just ignorant and don't know better" which just pushes them to further try and "educate" you.

The explanation that I was told was, "But, if I allow it, it means I endorse it." And I'm like, "welcome to being an idiot"

I've resorted of late to responding with "My God commands me to whip the dog shit out of people who tell others what to do."

Lifehack: start bitching about what other, preferably bigger sects have done to oppress [their sect.] Get them into it for a while, and then drop "this is why we need secular government. If church and politics are separate [like the founding fathers intended (US)], the [catholics | anglicans | mormons | evangelicals] can't use their [titles | money | connections] to suppress worship!"

"Sure it's abortion today, but tomorrow we are all worshippin' statues! History is a circle!" 1/2

I do this with the family all the time and it honestly is more successful than you'd expect. People are very fear-motivated, and these aren't really lies lol. 2/2

If discussing, tell a Christian that they're no longer allowed to eat shellfish, or wear mixed material clothing.

What's EVEN funnier, is that they'll tell you those old laws (Leviticus) don't apply, then turn around and talk about other Old Laws that should be followed (like how they discuss 'one man should not lay with another,' also in Leviticus.

And then start thumping the "blood, guts, and wrath of God" bullshit to justify their bigotry and hatred of someone different than they are.

Christians forget that the last and most important commandment His followers were given was to love others. Not bomb them, not gang rape them, but to love them. Clothe and feed the poor and downtrodden, "whatsoever you shall do to the least of these, my brothers, you do also unto me."

And we just have cunts in charge that do the exact opposite.

4 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's unfortunately more than that. The church, as a whole, promotes this. 'Love one another' is the most basic command for his followers and they can't help but othering ANYONE else. And the church eats it up. Why?

Because, if you're a part of 'their church' you can guide them. And tell them how your different than anyone else. So that they continue to tithe and donate to you, and ONLY you.

Same with the 2nd commandment. "Thou shalt not use God's name in vain." has nothing to do with cursing

However, laws prohibit you from things and in a society, laws are frequently based on collective morality which may include source material from religion.

Oh piss off

I don't get it?
My religion teaches me that salvation is my own responsibility. Everyone gets to choose what they want to do.

Doesn't all creed work like that?
Fanatism and religiosity are not the same thing.
