Copy/pasted from Hekatombe's link: "it will allow the state to use a new, legislature-drawn congressional district map for the 2026, 2028, and 2030 elections, instead of the one drawn by the bipartisan California Citizens Redistricting Commission."
Basically it give California the legal power to do the same thing Texas is doing, in order to counter what Texas is doing. (Texas is redistricting when they're not "supposed to" so they can gerrymander votes and increase their House numbers.)

As a Texan, the dumbasses made like 10 districts more vulnerable to flipping. If only people would get off their asses and vote.
