If the only reason they stay somewhere is to be allowed to exploit it...what do we want them staying there for? The majority of the population around them sees no benefit whatsoever. A few of them do a little, like Bill Gates. But by and large, I imagine having that much money changes a person. Especially if they've essentially always had so much money and influence that they've never lived a normal life. Such people should be studied more. I'll never understand how they can have so much and still keep wanting more. Maybe it's like a power fantasy video game, where they just feel a drive to gather and grow endlessly, but at the cost of lives they'll never even perceive.

Elon Musk said quite publicly that "Empathy will be the downfall of Western civilization." That's a real tell. When you get to that point where you're financially independent, never have to worry about money ever again, that changes you. Then if your wealth increases, little by little, more psychological changes happen. I think people get greedier. Less empathetic.
The human mind usually changes to a more primal one with great power. No one should have the kind of money we're seeing.

I wish this was true, though, because fuck that demented shitting rapist puppet. I don’t like that my tax dollars are just making him and his family/friends more rich. But, it doesn’t work like that. They want to bring back debtor’s prisons and having a bunch of people owing taxes they can’t pay will quicken that plan.

Taxes are not paid to the president. The IRS will bill you for the taxes you owe. And because you didn't take out anything, they will charge you interest on what you didn't withhold and penalties for not withholding enough. So you will pay More taxes not less and have to prepay your taxes next year, quarterly. If you don't pay voluntarily they will garnish your wages and probably also audit you for the last 10 years (hope you kept your receipts!). So yeah, this is pretty bad advice overall.
