Do you have a suggestion for another 40k group/faction/individual that you'd like to see that isn't on the list? Leave a suggestion. One per person, please.
Explanation: The Death Guard are one of the Traitor Legions of Chaos Space Marines. They worship and devote themselves exclusively to the Chaos God Nurgle and as a result of his mutational "gifts" they have become Plague Marines; Heretic Astartes who are eternally rotting away within their power armour and infected with every known form of disease and decay but who are immune to all pain or minor injury.
When the XIVth Legion was first raised on Terra by the Emperor during the First Founding, its Astartes were known as the Dusk Raiders. After the XIVth Legion was reunited with its Primarch Mortarion on the world of Barbarus, he renamed the Legion the Death Guard.
Fun Fact: Originally the Death Guard believed that humans should be free of oppression and that hardship should be faced with faith in inner strength, strong will and stern resolution. During the Heresy, these beliefs were twisted into contempt for the weak and the conviction that individuals were not fit to judge for themselves what was best for them.

40K is pointless testosterone-laden bullshit with no proper substance.

Weirdly, they still apothecaries (battle surgeons)

I love the Heresy era death guard some of the best writing and characters out there. The two betrayed DG marines one a dreadnought and the other a captain that are both being virus bombed. the captain didn't make it to safety and the dreadnought's carapace had been breached so the nought held his dying brother in his arms as their flesh sloughed off and in one last act of defiance against the traitors detonated his engine, so he could go out his own way.

Flight of the Eisenstein was easily one of the best of the Heresy that I've read.

#1 I have no idea if Lens is translating this properly, but it does make sense....somehow....?

All I can tell is he’s laughing at something in the last panel.
TheFastpaws
Really some of the most delusional.
Thizicis
To be fair same thing is true of Nurgle himself as he is unaware what he does is causing pain at all.
heroesblood
Isn't there lore saying that a Beast of Nurgle is so happy to see other creatures that it wants to hug them... but it's also violently toxic
Thizicis
Yes they are big dogs that want to hug and play with their new friends but their slime is extremely poisonous so it kills people.Which makes them sad but since they aren't too bright they forget and try to find new friends.
heroesblood
Makes me sad, honestly. Gotta love the dichotomy of "pure of soul" and "horrendously corrosive fleshmonster."
