Welcome home and congratulations on the next step in Humanities journey to the stars. I look forward to pictures, videos, and so much more that we couldn't see. If there is anything we've learned from these 10 days, its, among the politics, wars, RFK Jr, and JD Vances, and so on, its how starved actual humans are for an intellectual endeavor and pursuit; the sheer human will and ingenuity that brought humanity once again to the doorstep of the Moon.

The splash looks like the "you see that guy over there" meme

35 million Americans live below the poverty line and 47 million Americans are so-called "food insecure" meaning they don't have consistent access to enough food. If ambassadors from another planet judged us by how we treat the poorest among us, we would be found deeply lacking as a society and culture. Yes, orbiting the moon is a remarkable achievement - but it's a hollow victory while our own citizens starve and we mindlessly bomb innocent civilians in other countries for absolutely no reason.

No one is denying the problems. Okay well, actual people aren't. But, I wake up, its in the news, its on here, its on IG, its in the paper, its in peoples mouths, its at the store. We need a break. This is that break. We aren't denying the problems, but christ, this was a 10 day break we need because slapping us in the face with the problems 24/7 does not solve them.

As the United States was dropping megatons of explosives on smaller nations in the middle east.
- Carl Sagan probably.

I've done crazier shit in life than most, but I can't imagine the relief of hitting that ocean. They got capable men and women on the scene, NASA and US Navy, nearly instantly. They got our finest Master Divers swimming in. Blow the hatch and jump if you have to! You are safe. You are home. You are home in a way not 100 of us can imagine.

At least they got away from all this bs for a few days

Not quite. They had to do a direct call/conversation with Trump. I wouldn't be able to do it without telling him to fuck off and die already. They have more strength and willpower than I do(Given their demeanor during the conversation they didn't seem to be fans).

They had to talk to him after splashdown and they will be invited to the whitehouse, which they wont be able to decline since trimp is in control of the nation’s spending instead of congress. So they have to go make nice photo op with orange dickhead to try to not make it worse.
