There’s the technicality that he was a “member” of the armed forces since the president holds the position of Commander in Chief of the military chain of command. But, considering the requirements of being injured while serving and “Being wounded or killed in any action against an enemy of the United States or as a result of an act of any such enemy or opposing armed forces", since the person was not an enemy of the united states. Then he really doesn’t qualify. And as a vet I am super offended
