I'm in this video and I don't like it. Also, what I really want to do to spite these people is just keep celebrating Christmas until February (because apparently, these people always think Christmas ends when the sales end).
They don't start Halloween the week after Labor Day. And everyone likes Halloween. It's a blip, maybe a party, maybe tricking or treating. Xmas is a whole thing. I actually like Christmas
Halloween "comes early" in retail stores, where the goal is to sell you the shit you need for halloween early, before it's too late for you to buy it and decorate. Nobody puts out pumpkins and sheet ghosts in august, though. But christmas freaks, they're desperate to do it the second halloween ends. Lights go up november 1st. And that isn't hyperbole, it happened in my neighborhood.
In my family the Christmas tree goes up when everyone is home visiting for the thanksgiving weekend. We do thanksgiving, then Black Friday, then on Saturday we put up the tree.

No one complains about Halloween coming early, let the Christmas people have their fun (so long as it's after Halloween)

I saw a Christmas tree in someone's foyer on Halloween. The temptation to live up to my username was powerful.
