A cheap starter set containing a bow, string, 5 arrows and 4 target sheets. I'm shooting from about 20 meters, pure guestimation of yeeting the arrows towards the target. I'm proud!

Nice! I got a recurve to start but found I'm much better with a compound. Hopefully with practice I'll dust off the recurve again.

I would get a proper backstop unless the area behind the target is completely safe to stray arrows. If you aren't able to 100% hit the target then its better to shoot at closer distances like 10-15 yards. Check your bow arm for jerking or bowhand gripping on release, could be causing your wide left/right grouping.

I think I have the same bow, bought it used with 24lbs limbs. Works like a charm.

He makes it look so easy, damn.

That's because it is easy... after you've spent thousands of hours practicing! You'll get there.

Careful! Before long you'll be spending all your money on bows, arrows, strings, and gear.

We'll, I've had to sell my motorcycle due to a neck injury (not related) and I've got no kids, soooo...

Oh, well, you definitely need an Olympic style recurve then.

Those things do look rather sexy

Do be careful with the carbon arrow shafts - just like a certain submersible, they can fail suddenly and catastrophically. Just flex them a bit before shooting them if they've hit something hard like a rock or stump.

Thanks for the advice! Idk if they're carbon though, the whole set was around €150

Most of the cheaper arrows are carbon fiber now. If they look like they have fibers/striations running the length of the arrow they probably are. The other commonly found options are wood (very unusual outside of traditional archery) and aluminum. If they're aluminum they probably have "Easton" somewhere on them.

They are Easton Inspire 570 arrows

Oh yup, those are carbon.

Fiberglass splinters are not fun either. Flex test your arrows before the shooting session.

This!

Bend until it cracks, then go back a quarter turn and blame the apprentice?

Bend it so it breaks in half in a controlled way rather than exploding and sending shards of fiberglass/carbon fiber into your hands. Trips to the ER isn't fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WncajFCAYRM
