Double-check EVERYTHING you see on the internet now. Don't trust any video at face value because its so easy to fake for like, clicks, outrage etc.

Am I supposed to know what the real story is?

Boy I can hardly wait for the World Wide Web Collapse!!

Of course, somehow he has no other family and people possibly can't make up the rest of the story in their head to ultimately be more accepting literal child labor.

Engagement farming is a thing, and it sucks

Now we get to see fake orphans getting crushed by the orphan crushing machine, making it easier to ignore the real orphans that are being crushed by the orphan crushing machine every god damn day! Wow, what a time to be alive. /s

Seen a few of these but they were extreme karen videos. Like a grandma stealing a swingset out of someone's yard or a neighbor setting someone's car on fire because he didn't like the kid's haircut or some crazy stuff.

A Crock of Grok.

Double checking everything would make a paranoid of you. Double check just relevant information.

we need to destroy data centers

Remember to save the RAM first

They are powered by highly flammable natural gas and OSHA was just gutted by DOGE so it's only a matter of time until an accident happens

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes we do. For so many reasons.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We should have ALWAYS had provenance authentication. I never liked people sharing other people's OC without credit

There were a bunch of, "Oh, this cheetah jumps into a safari vehicle and licks a boy" videos posted awhile back with no credible attribution. Hilarious part is that when I asked for sources in some of those videos' comment sections the poster responded with a thumbs up and emoji like I said something positive.

Then there are the outrage-bait videos against police. Last one I watched supposedly involved a black, female US Army colonel getting stopped over bullshit reasons and included a bunch->

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

of shit you'd expect from a story, not a real life news event, like discussing the actual thoughts of the involved parties. Of course this one had attribution links, to multiple different sites with white brunette, white blond, and black-but-not-the-same-face US Army colonels all involved in the exact same incident. Somehow. Magically. :-| And they all had the same story verbatim, including typos and grammatical errors.

But what if I haven't seen that video or any others like it?

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Then it's ok for you to fall for it.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You mean all these videos showing hoas getting in trouble aren't real, I am shocked sir

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You may want to edit the image so it is clear what point you are making. You could add a big red line from corner to corner, add the text "fake" or "AI", or both

Obeying was not enough. It is time to be enraged and distracted.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, we used to have a guy on here whose whole thing was tricking people who didn’t read the title because few people read the title first

Really

AI-generated content is the new National Enquirer.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

and I fucking don't know if it's worse or better

probably worse, it's usually only gets worse about those things

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even if it wasnt AI slop, you can still find pictures of something and add whatever fuckin caption you want.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even if its fake, that's still on the company for failing to do a basic background check.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Youtube shorts are filled with this garbage, i imagine tik tok is million times worse since they can be monetized

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seen alot of that court room crap, just the judge, then the defendant... AI voice over... I keep hitting "don't recommend the channel"

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Vast majority of the heavily edited, heavily cut camera, judge short videos are either AI or cuts from different cases put together.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea, why would thebkid be on trial and not the employer?

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're making fanfics about the Orphan Crushing machine now? We live in a fucking nightmare.

1 month ago | Likes 499 Dislikes 6

So when you hear what they are really doing you are desensitized and don't pay attention.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have to. Orphan crushing is what powers the AI.

1 month ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 1

"It's right there. Would be a waste if you didn't use it."

Dystopian Nightmare*

1 month ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Feels a little more insidious than fanfic when they're trying to hobble child labor laws across the country

1 month ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

So we're not calling them deepfakes anymore?

1 month ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 4

AFAIK Deepfakes are used to replace an actors face in a filmed scene. Usually with a small model trained on the specific face you want to add in. When it comes to AI slop, the entire thing is generated from a massive training set that is supposed to be able to do pretty much anything.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Deepfakes are a specific type of AI.

1 month ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

They’re two separate things. One augments an existing thing, and needs a lot of training material specifically for that to achieve its goal, and the other one generates new content from a very broad general training pool.

1 month ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

We are still calling deepfakes deepfakes.
this is however not a deepfake.

1 month ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I'd like to thank everyone who replied because I honestly didn't know

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

A good rule of thumb, look for a source. If there isn't a credible source, it's probably not real & you should refrain from passing along misinformation.

1 month ago | Likes 150 Dislikes 1

My rule is look for extraneous movement; humans are never really still, so as soon as somebody is standing there and only their hand is moving or only their face is, it's fake. Even when they do vigorous hand gestures the other handand body doesn't move in reaction.

People over 60. Fwd; Fwd; Fwd; Fwd; Fwd; Fwd;

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cue everyone’s hatred and mistrust of main stream media. The whole “fake news” discrediting of sources has fucked America wholly.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Reputable organizations always hyperlink sources within their articles.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't even understand the point of this one.

1 month ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Any emotional reaction means engagement, and egagemnt means money

Rile up the boomers who are gonna see it and go around saying "can you BELIEVE the LIBRULS are making it illegal for teenagers to work? How are they gonna learn responsibility or discipline or any of the other bullshit things I pretend to care about?"

Normalize and glorify child labor probably.
