The No Kings movement organizers asked people to not be violent and to leave weapons, even legally owned ones, at home. I will happily follow the first request, but these days, there's a zero percent chance I'm doing the second.
Luckily, the one counter-protester at my local event was completely peaceful and so we yelled, sung some songs, caused a minor traffic slowdown, and went home.
It wasn't terribly effective, but it was good to get out for the afternoon.

Are the No Kings protestors "the left" or are they just people? I guess a bunch of them are "left" and a vanishingly small proportion of them vote GOP but still. When it comes to having a demented POTUS who lies as often as he breathes, who is destroying the country, who is obviously corrupt, who is taking us into an illegal and unjustified war that he can't "win" by any normal definition of that word... can't the people protesting him just be people?
