Talk to the claw

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

And then the whole movie theatre clapped

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

*clawpped

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But it's so true, too. Having too high expectations of you, then failing it feels a lot worse than no expectation and failing.

Especially for sports teams, a good team versus a bad team, if they win by a lot: 'eh, of course you're supposed to smash em' win by a small

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Amount or even lose and you'll never hear the end.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pessimism: I'm always either right, or pleasantly surprised!

7 years ago | Likes 101 Dislikes 1

There's nothing pessimistic in that statement. That is optimism.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Losing feels twice as bad as winning feels good

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Fear of loss is a real tool in sales and negotiations. That’s why you get free trails for everything nowadays.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2004. No one lets the Yankees forget choking in the ALCS, no one remembers who Boston beat for the series.

7 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

St. Louis The series was awful though. They didn't even win a game.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It was a truly awful series. At no point could they slow down Boston's momentum. And yes, "No one" is an overstatement, but the point stands

Hated this movie - totally normalising bullying at universities, including by faculty.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 15

Just like schindlers list promoted the holocaust, if we follow that logic.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

...No it fuckin' didn't

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yeah, everybody knows that shit is for high school.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My, someone's being dramatic.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

The dean made a bet with them and if they lost they had to leave? That's shit.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did you watch the movie? The whole movie?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes. And the most glaring take-home was that the university was full of bullies and everyone was fine with it.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah and then they stand up to the bullies.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And what is the result? Kicked out...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Iirc they were kicked out because they cheated and then committed a crime.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What the fuck is "z snapped"

7 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 9

Shame on you, child.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 111 Dislikes 2

So what does the Z stand for, or do they just call it the z snap because it looks like a z?

7 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Yes.

7 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

"I give it three snaps up, in Z formation."

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The gesture indicates finality in an argument. It's a reference to Zorro.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Wait. Is it really a reference to Zorro?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the Mask/Legend of Zorro movies came out 1998 and 2005 respectively, and the z-snap gained popularity mostly in this time.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fuck this movie. Pixar has lost it's innovation and its pulse on what constitutes original.

7 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 67

Originality is oversold. Its just one trait which is worthless by itself. Takes more than that to be good & its not even necessary

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I...I liked it

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think that's fine considering they set the fucking standard

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

How does that excuse the constant dick sucking over their new and mediocre movies?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Haha says mac821 aka the guy shaking his fist at the screen. I'm challenging you right now to make a better movie, mac821.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Ah the classic anticritic.. So since I am not singlehandedly a corporation that employs hundreds to make movies i cant have an opinion?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I loved monsters U

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

To each their own. Sorry if i was too harsh :/

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

They do literally have a step by step how to make a movie guide. So there never really was innovation. Just variations.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

The were making leaps and bounds in 3D animation. Every movie featured new technology and that forced cohesiveness which drove the story

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can still innovate even if you have a guide.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

maybe the movie doesnt has an original plot, but you cant say it isnt good

7 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 5

Yes i can. Thats what im saying.

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 10

I thought it was a good movie

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I respectfully disagree.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What makes you say that? Coco, inside out, and brave are all recent, good, and original movies from Pixar. Finding dory and incredibles Ii

7 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

May have been sequels, but they were great movies in their own right, too.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Youre honestly using Brave as an example? I cant remember a single detail about that movie and i watched it in theaters twice with friends

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I mean, everyone gets an opinion. I thought it was a fun, unique fairy tale, and its awards and profits seem to suggest so too.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You know what else has lots of awards and profits? The Fast and Furious series. A real testament to quality filmmaking that is

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Brave is 6 years old tomorrow (13th) I wouldn't call that recent

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And he used monsters university, which is 5 years old (14th) as an example of a recent downward trend. I went one movie further to show that

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It really isnt a problem.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Examples of the problem: Cars 3, Finding Dory, The Little Dinosaur, Inside Out

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shhhhh, let people enjoy things.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

Shhh, let people have opinions.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Im saying we shouldn't let studios off when they lose sight of what theyre best at. I love pixar, hate the direction theyve taken.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Maybe, but I feel like there's not a whole lot of people who agree with you. You're not entitled to choose a studios direction

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

But i am entitled to express my dissatisfaction. And feeling like it because a small subset of ppl on the net disagree is not a good census

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That you are. But saying "we shouldn't let.." sounds like you're demanding others to support you as if your words were definite facts, imo

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Those would have been the most cringe things to see in the cinema.

7 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 35

People clapping always gets me confused.

7 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 6

It's an emotional response, my theater clapped when The Force Awakens started playing because we were a bunch of happy nerds

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

It's what people do when they enjoy something.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

I hate when they do it in during a great line and as a result I don't hear the next three lines, gee I hope they weren't important

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Right? It’s a screen, nobody on it knows you’re applauding.

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 8

Applause is always about how the applauder feels.

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 5

Not really, had to go to a graduation event recently for work. Clapped for everyone but didn't really give a shit.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

True. Social contract and assumed obligations does cover quite a lot of human behavior in a society.
