So rare to be pleased about political developments in my home state of Georgia. Politics is so weird here. I loathed MTG and then at the end, I didn't want her to resign. Not a fan of Kemp or Raffensperger, but was proud they stood up to the oompaloompa, and now we're going full tard on paper ballots. It's hard to like it here, but at least we have DragonCon.

Georgia's 14th is heavily gerrymandered as well as the most Republican leaning district in the state according to the Cook Partisan Voting Index. It was never going to go blue in this special election.
However, the Democratic candidate lost by less than 12 points, which is a HUGE over-performance versus the same candidate's loss to MTG in 2024 by just under 30 points. The district went for Trump by 37 points. It's not the result I wanted, but it IS progress.
