I've done various weapons training for 4 or so years. Nunchaku are one of the hardest to get a proper handle of.

Bind a sword or staff with the chain maybe. You get lots of power from the speed of the swing. Somewhat concealable...

They have 'em for practice, but the weight is low (to reduce injury) which screws up the rhythm, so you have to learn again on "real" ones.
