Impeachment isn't removal, it's just the House bringing formal charges. The Senate still has to vote with 2/3 majority to remove. Which is why a few have been impeached, but none actually removed. Nixon likely would have been, but he saw the writing on the wall and resigned instead.
This is exactly why a 2 party system is so terrible, 2/3 majority for one party is borderline impossible and when the parties are just "us" and "them" it's hard to get people to reach across the aisle.
