I too care about the environment but I will call this cool regardless. In the scope of things, this doesnt affect the environment at all. We are taught that our environmental footsteps matter but when compared to oil, chemical, agriculture and other industries, our personal footsteps barely compete

#21 how to go from having "A house" to having "A pile of dirty toilet paper". I mean, I live in Germany, where we have 'rolladen' (roll-down window shutters zombie-apocalypse style) by default, which are fantastic against stray light AND an extra layer of sound isolation, but without shit like that I would absolutely get the pettiest revenge I could against public nuisances like this. Just makes me glad I don't live in the US (Like I need any more reason).

You just proved why people think Germans aren't fun. This is Halloween. This is the gold standard. Houses decorate every year to various levels, and the ones that do not are lame. Besides, most people are respectful and shut off their lights around 10:30 PM.

Funny thing is that I'm not actually German, I just spent 3 years living in an attic room in an old building in a city center and came to irrationally loathe anything that made noise or created bright light. I am also far more sensitive to such things than most people, or so I interpret from context. I also don't see the entertainment value in turning your house into an energy guzzling epilepsy dispenser. So it's not really germans, just me, really. Hope that helps.

PS: I could give you a list of experiences that made me hate this type of display, but it would be longer than most dumps on this website, and you'd probably think me crazy because some of the 'hatred' really isn't rational (it's not truly hatred but 'intense dislike' doesn't exactly cut it either).
