This made it to the front page MONTHS ago and in TEXT format. Fuck you and fuck your shitty lazy image.

I dunno I'll just keep pirating

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fucking Canva for InDesign? What the hell?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And avoid SaaS in general..

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or if you want to use Adobe but cant afford it you can set sail on the seven seas.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Forgot affinity. Photoshop and illustrator replacement.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Audacity ain't good for much though, go for Reaper.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cmon, gimp is crap and we all know that. That UI is Made by developers, not ux’ers

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would recommend toon boom harmony, super cheap, free tutorial on their website on everything, even drawing and super user friendly

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Blender instead of Flash? Is this person high? What a terrible list.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I knew this shit was going to happen the moment they moved to this "cloud" and "subscription" shit. Never trust subscription models!

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

dont most people just pirate where needed these days?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea, use Gimp for a real job and then tell me its like photoshop

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Paint dot net? You want me to paint instead of paying $17 a month for Lightroom?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There is no Free Alternative that can even Compare to Photoshop. Gimp is cool and all but not a replacement.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Dreamweaver lololololol

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

and wordpress as an alternative. ahahahahah. robs every last bit of credibility from the list.

Darktable is an excellent RAW processor, if Lightroom is your jam. Krita is a great painting application, and Mischief for vectors.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah I was disappointed no one was mentioning darktable. I've been using it for raws from my phone and my DSLR's for years

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I though i was the only one who knew about darktable

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you want to combine 1 and 2, Clip Studio is cheaper by far than anything Adobe and a one time payment.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not free, granted, but still.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, and they often have a 50% off sale for anyone who sees this and wants to look into it as an option. Great program for artwork/editting.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Blender is one of the most confusing programs known to man, how anyone uses it baffles me

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i installed that back in the day, when i was making maps for half life. i was used to unintuitive UX, but blender was just unusable for me.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The new version overgauled the ui to be supposedly fairly intuitive but im so used to the old version i cant use it

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2005 called, they want their alternative to adobe list back.

photopea for photoshop, gravit for illustrator

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Any good gif editors out there?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Several people have mentioned Photopea. I'll definitely have to check that out.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Affinity Pro instead of Photoshop

6 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 2

This.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The whole Affinity suite is pretty damn good, especially considering the price.

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea you're getting something more refined in usability with affinity over the free products. I mean you get what you pay for.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

i've been meaning to get that. i'll have to remember to get it after work today

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hell even Picsart will do the job on your mobile

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seriously - I am duly impressed.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Affinity all day, and the new publisher is tops

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Waiting for their Lightroom replacement for proper image cataloguing

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

None of these are adequate replacements. They're good! Amazing even for free software, but just not as good as the shitty-overpriced stuff.

6 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 2

Audacity for audio files is damn good software.. Way better then many others I tried to use.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm blown away at the thought of using fucking Canva as an alternative to InDesign.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Blender is. Well, not as an After Effects replacement, but they're seriously challenging Autodesk now.

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

The school I'll go to changed from Maya to Blender. As a blender user I was really excited when I found out.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Has the same issue as any other open source program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qSTcxt2t74

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The issue being?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Horrible UI and shortcuts. Watch the video, it is from the official blender meetup, it is hilarious.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Have you tried Blender 2.8?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair, if you've learned anything else but Blender, it's a pain to learn.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Not with 2.8. Check it out, it's a huge upgrade, and its official release is tomorrow.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bought couple of tutorials for low-poly&animation. Not least because they were for the 2.8. Sloowly finding my motivation to learn from onl.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That goes for other software as well, though. 3D software is complicated and takes a long time to learn.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True. But the switch from Maya to Cinema4D or 3DStudio Max is supposedly easier. I've only ever used Blender.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I learned 3DS years ago when I was a student. Using it every day for 3 years set things in me and I don't think I'll ever understand blender

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just pirate all the programs I use

6 years ago | Likes 269 Dislikes 18

Arghh

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Considerably less of a good idea if you're using the software for work, though.

6 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

I'm almost certain that adobe's court costs can be paid in "exposure".

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

if you are using it for work then it is a work tool and can be written off in taxes and should be purchased legally

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

As do we all good sir. TV and movies too.

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 9

I stopped pirating games and software when I got a job. Just seemed like less of a hassle to not have to deal with cracks and such.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Sad thing is that evne when paying, you cant get most shit you want legally

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Yeah. Or just like. Not stealing someone’s work.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just search for the cheapest price for games, which are usually 1 to 5 euro's. When they are 30-50 euro's when you buy directly on steam.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think steam for games, spotify for music and the discovery of enough alternatives for other stuff made pirating obsolete. At least for me.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Ah yes, stealing is totally a legitimate alternative. How does it feel like to go through life with zero integrity?

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 44

Adobe, Microsoft etc are doing just fine, if us pirates did not use their products odds are the companies we work for would not buy them

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

F U?

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 7

How does it feel to go through life blinded by the fact that you're getting ripped off.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Your not getting ripped off. Adobe products are a fair price. If you don't like it, use other software

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Feels actually quite ok. But let me ask you, who stirred your meal before you could take an insta photo?

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 9

Piracy != theft. The software is not taken from someone, it is copied.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 4

Also, how is it fair that you don't have to pay, but I do? Or do you think everyone should be allowed to pirate?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

No that's. It how it works. Just because you want it to be that way, doesn't make it

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Typical of a stupid criminal to not understand the complexity of an issue because they want to stay ignorant to shelter themselves #1

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

From any kind of responsibility. You're nothing but an entitled hypocrite

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Feels pretty good honestly. I dunno what responses you were expecting but I’m sure your local police dept will give you a gold star, champ.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

Just upvoted to give that comment a healthy 6/6 balance :D ...also, funny

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Buddy, it's a computer program, it's not life or death.

6 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 9

It's just theft, having people work and not pay them. Nbd

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 19

Some of these companies (Adobe in this case) make such a shit ton of money and the creators have been paid already.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

They've already been paid. You're just pinching pennies from an executives mega yacht fund...

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 9

No. Less than 1% will ever make it to an executive. The rest goes to pay employees and coats you prick

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Today I learned the only people getting paid at Adobe are the executives. The programmers are all fired on product release dates.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What if I need to read this shit but its tiny and bold pink on black?

6 years ago | Likes 1379 Dislikes 9

Windows Magnifier

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

Why are people still experimenting with what text looks good on what background?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

https://alternativeto.net/ provides info on alternatives to most apps, and contains reviews and license info. You can specify open source.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Think you need to get your eyes examined

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 11

Pretty sure bright pink is right next to white on the black contrast chart

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

Try ZOOMING IN

Enhance

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Enhanced using photoshop:

6 years ago | Likes 501 Dislikes 6

Nice.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It’s just an inverted image. You can do that on your phone.

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Inverted, then color balanced, then sharpened... but yeah.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Better enhancements, using waifu2x and gimp

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

+1!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Best

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

waifu2x is intended for upscaling cartoon/comic art, but it also has a jpeg denoiser that works pretty well

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You had me at waifu

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Instead of PHOTOSHOP, try GIMP

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

+1 for GIMP

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do i have to use a gimp suit for using it?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it truly using photoshop? Because if so, that’s fantastic.

6 years ago | Likes 111 Dislikes 3

He just reversed the colours

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

well, yeah. if you need photoshop to enhance an image, you don't need photoshop.

6 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 7

So true.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

lolwut?

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Paint.net is great, but it is no substitute for Lightroom.

6 years ago | Likes 169 Dislikes 2

It's not free, but it's also not a subscription, DxO is serving me well

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

None of these really are. Guess I'll be sticking to piracy.

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Time to hit the high seas. Arrg!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

CaptureOne? Or are you looking for free stuff?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair, with the right plug-ins you can accomplish a lot, but I get your point

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Capture1 has a free version too, and that's a direct competitor

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

RawTherapee is a pretty good replacement.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm no imagey person, so this is just me repeating others. But supposedly darkroom is.

6 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Been there, attempted that. Darktable tries, but it isn't really a proper substitute for Lightroom.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Seems to be sufficient for lots and lots of people to not pay a completely ridiculous subscription to adobe.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good for them, and it's getting better. I try it from time to time, but the entire workflow including mobile-pc sync isn't there.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On longer trips and sessions it's well worth the cost of CC Photography in saved time only. I can sort through and have most work done...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Darktable is damn good, but it's harder to use and on windows is quite unstable, on linux is very stable tho

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

As a lightroom veteran, I've tried using it and found none of the familiar tools, did not understand the workflow, failed hard at that.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I started with darktable, I feel comfortable with it. I find it working quite well on windows though.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This may be more a matter of you being so used to Adobe that you have trouble adapting.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's exactly what I'm saying. I tried several times, I just don't get it. I have trouble finding out the simplest things (how do I export?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never had a problem with the tools I use but after finally trying Lightroom I can't believe people pay for it.
