There’s nothing pro life about this, or anything republicans do. They aren’t pro life, they’re anti choice.

Their stealing of the right of women to chose is motivated purely by a misogynistic desire to control them and help create a new and desperate underclass.

Will you all please remember this in the voting booths next year?

Texas has become Gilead.

Abortions aren't murder, but this is.

The 5th Circuit has 19 judges appointed by a Republican POTUS, 7 by a Democrat. If you are not wealthy, you have no rights under Republican control.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gotta love a place where an endangered pregnant woman has fewer rights and supporters than an angry entitled white dude with a gun.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sometimes violence is the answer. In other countries when medical care like this is outlawed, people stormed government buildings. I’m not advocating for that. I’d forgive you for thinking that I was.

Getting voted out is too good for them. Traitors *hang.*

At what point do women resort to '2nd Amendment solutions' in their own self-defense?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wish I could cut out my uterus and mail it to one of these fucking pricks.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Next month's headline "Why is it so hard to find a woman in Texas?" Fuck the GOP; they've made they're position pretty clear on this one- 'Women are not human, plain and simple.'

2 years ago | Likes 114 Dislikes 0

When the consequences of your vote are the deaths of women, I wish it upon you.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also: "Why is the doctor/nurse shortage worse in Texas?". No one is gonna want to risk their license practicing in a state where lifesaving care can be murder charges depending on who happens to be watching. At some point medical care professionals will just be advised not to treat any women in the event that their treatment could be considered harmful to a fetus.

2 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

There’s a large cadre of tradwives out there that are totally onboard with this. Right until they need an abortion at which time they’ll have to scramble to find a way to save their lives.

You know that Revolution that you Americans had a couple years ago? You should do that again. Harder this time.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I feel like this alone would turn Texas blue. Must be a lot of drooling brain dead stupid fucking idiots in that state. Or, religious conservatives. Same thing.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

You underestimate the power of indoctrination and brainwashing. Do you know how many women are proud members of a religion that considers and treats women like objects? Mere "vessels" that must obey their husbands, stay in the kitchen with a smile in their face and spread their legs when procreation is needed? You can't convince an adult woman to do any of those things, unless she was brought up as a child into this way of (not) thinking.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

texas should be a blue state, but its gerrymandered to fuck. virtually every state but a few should be blue states. we are not a functioning democracy. its an oligarchy with democracy theater.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Texas is gerrymanded to hell

Texas IS hell.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

But remember they re-elected abbot after Uvalde. I don’t hold Texans in much regard.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Sadly as more of the non brain dead ones leave that leaves behind less and less people to fight against the bullshit so those who can't leave, even if they wanted to, have to stay behind and suffer. Neither the ones who leave or are forced to stay are at fault here, of course, it's just such a tragic position to be in.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

they need cheap labor. This is the way they think they can get it.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To be absofukinglutely clear, it's not the fault of the people in that second picture. Most of the people who voted WANTED THIS TOO. The peeps in the picture are just profiting off (or gaining power) off it.

Conservatives need to die. Either figuratively or literally. They are a fucking stain on existence. They exist only to enrich themselves and screw everyone else. They have no concept of justice except as a way to beat down others. They want nothing more than to inhibit human progress and drag us back into their shithole. Fuck the lot of them.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's a shame covid didn't finish enough of them off to make things marginally better.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What I don’t understand is: why don’t American women go to republicans in droves and just straight up shoot them?

We're past just voting, donating, & volunteering. They've won so many spots without any opponent! Consider running for local or state office or plant the idea in everyone you feel you could support.

I believe you misspelled anti-American. Women are the target of this particular bullshit but we’re all under the knife with them. Or should I say Lash.

It's their self elected misery

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I kept my house in San Antonio after taking a job in another state a decade ago, with an eye to having it paid off for my retirement. There's no way on earth that I would move back there now.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Texas is pretty big. You could run for a long time and still be in Texas.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I'm working on it! It's so expensive! 😭

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I know a black couple with daughters that moved there!

No idea why - she says it wasn’t required for work.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nobody to sell their house to as no bugger wants to move in.

2 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

This isnt true tho.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

And even if they do, they’ll end up getting half the square footage for their dollar in civilized states. Texas’s lifeblood is federal tax welfare money artificially keeping their prices low.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Lack of funds I guess

2 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

As a Texan I can confirm.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I would just abandon everything and leave with just a suitcase to start somewhere else. But I understand not everyone have the luxury =(

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

In addition to the money or logistical means, a lot of people can't/won't abandon everything. It's a mix of how deep their roots are there, and fear of the unknown.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some people won't even evacuate for an emergency.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Always wild when lawyers and judges make decisions for doctors and nurses.

2 years ago | Likes 274 Dislikes 0

Lawyers seem to make decisions for everybody now

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It might be a step up from non medical insurance company personnel, who make most of these decisions

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Given how the study of Obstetrics started in the US, it used to be a good thing the lawyers and judges got involved.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Euthanasia....!!!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They should in many cases do exactly that. There are plenty of laws that govern what a doctor or nurse can or can't do, and 99% of them are extremely necessary.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 44

Fuck and you.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They have their own licensing bodies that determine their scope of practice.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...hit me with an example? Not sarcastic

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh I’d love to see this list of medical decisions a lawyer should make over a doctor. This should be interesting. We learned this type of medical bullshit during the pandemic when lawyers tried to perform the job of epidemiologists and got an additional 750k people in the US killed.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When a doctor does a thing that might cause them to lose their licence (or worse), it ends up in court, being argued mostly by lawyers and decided mostly by a judge. This is how it should be.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

This is 100% not the assumption your original comment made. The OP argued that lawyers shouldn’t be making decisions FOR doctors. They are non-medically trained people deciding how doctors may treat a medical condition. We are not talking about a doctor mistakenly causing harm and prosecuting them for it.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really? Like what?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Prescription violations, patient abuse, patient record tampering, I'm sure you can think of more.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

And why do you think doctors would allow that?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can you imagine why those are rules in the first place? It's because doctors did them, and it had terrible consequences. Most doctors wouldn't allow it, but enough would. That's why there are rules, allowing lawyers and judges to some times tell doctors they fucked up and can't be doctors any more.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

These are wildly, wildly not the same thing. Preemptive laws around scope of practice/safe practice are far and away not equal to judges inserting themselves into practice to further the religious right’s agenda.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

True. But that is not what the original comment I replied to was talking about. They were making a general statement about law practitioners meddling in the affairs of medical practitioners.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

Those laws and regulations are there to protect patient safety. If a women comes in bleeding-out due to a fetus that's going "bad" and it will kill her to keep it in her and force her to have it.. that goes against patient safety. The judges and lawyers in this situation are basically forcing healthcare providers to jeopardize patient safety.

2 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I am aware. But that isn't what I replied to. I replied to someone who made a general statement about lawyers and judges meddling in the affairs of medical personnel. And that is something they are entirely right to do in all too many cases.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 17

You know. I know. We all know that your comments were made in bad faith when you clearly understood the difference and context.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

*Most* laws regarding medical procedure are written with consultation of MANY medical professionals and the patient's wellbeing put absolute first. Ergo, lawyers and judges write into law based on medically sound, peer reviewed information, not because sky daddy says bad.
Every single lawyer, judge and politician with a signature on a document allowing these tragedies to happen deserves to be stripped of all ranks and titles and have their licenses revoked. Abysmal people. Truly the worst

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Every man who signed that should be charged with the murder of every woman who dies.
