My experience with exotic pets is nil. But I remember siegfried and roys tiger attack and Travis the chimp.

I would put a Tiger much higher on the dangerous scale than a puma. Puma's from what I've seen deal better in a healthy domestic env.
That said, probably should not be allowed as pet unless there were major regulation to ensure safety and well being.

Not all Jags are are panthers. A panther is just a black big cat. Could be Jaguar, leopard, etc.
Jaguar = Panthera onca. So yes, all jaguars are panthers in the phylogenetic sense. And not all panthers are black either.

Um, no. The word itself comes from the genus Panthera, ie. a group of species, regardless of colour.
A lion is a panther, for example. The word is probably abusively used to refer to black panthers, but that doesn't make it right.
