Let’s see the republican asshats like Jordan and Gaetz talk about J6 and how it was peaceful with Gregor Clegane here in the room. He’s running in a solid blue district where the representative is retiring #politics

He is The Rock's cousin from the Samoan side of the family tree.

"Thin Blue Line! Except when they are trying to stop us from breaking the law!"

Him debating a republican opponent, I'd pay to see that

This is the best news since Jan 6th somebody with an ounce of moral fiber in such a position unbelievable these days !

May the force be with you.

Hope he'll win. Need more courage and integrity to congress.

Yes, this hero needs to get a medal and more recognition, but... can he be a good lawmaker? Does he know how that place runs and what its rules are?

Pity he's not running in my district. Someone with a bit of recognition might have a chance of dislodging Andy fuckin' Harris.

Good. Need more like him.

We already know he can hold his own against shit flinging nutjobs, so he will do great, I am sure!

hope he puts on a no BS term if elected

So republicans will get behind him because they back the blue right? And he was employed during Trumps years, and it was only a peaceful protest so nothing to be mad about right republicans?? Support our officers and that thin blue line right? Or are you all full of shit. Yeah just like the 45th depends

Black & Blue is always a mental conundrum for them.

No cops in government. Even ones that did their job.

I've never met a cop I trusted or even liked a little - but as in all things I try to keep an open mind in this regard. And besides the "enemy of my enemy" I can tentatively back the guy I KNOW was fighting off traitorous shitpigs on J6 while reserving the right to change my opinion in light of new information.

As a cop, saving lives was outside the scope of his duties. So... technically...

Hell yea. Wish he was running for MD-01 or -02. Both of those has shitty reps

I dont know the current state of things but from my time in Maryland it desperately needs a Democrat with integrity, hope they vote him in!

Jamie Raskin is the Representative from my district and he’s doing an excellent job.

Cool. Now what are his policies and positions?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

exactly... whats his thoughts on law enforcement? how do you feel about it, as a BLACK male

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What he did that day was exceedingly brave and super awesome, but that doesn't mean I automatically want him to be making laws. Mitt Romney voted to impeach trump, but I definitely wouldn't want him re-elected; and Liz Cheney sacrificed her career to investigate trump's guilt for insurrection, but policy-wise she voted WITH trump a higher percentage of the time than Matt Gaetz did. It's cool that he's running--but what does he stand for and what does he want to do with that position?

ACAB always, no matter what

This dude put his life on the line to save democracy itself

Only a sith deals in absolutes.

Idk about you but I want law enforcement that I can trust, not no law enforcement at all. We have to recognize the good when we can.

"ACAB" isn't an expression of desire for no law enforcement, it's an expression that says law enforcement, as it currently exists, is corrupt to the very core and needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

I recognize that but this particular cop doesn’t deserve to be called a bastard. He’s the kind of LEO that could help reform them.

Ok but there is a time and place for that sort of comment like in posts showing police misconduct. It’s out of place here, it undermines the good conduct of this officer and muddles the message of “ACAB” at the same time.

All Cops Are Bastards is a shitty thing to say about the capital police that saved democracy. It’s a shitty thing in general to put them all in that basket in the first place
