Banning puberty blockers is child abuse. They are completely reversible, have incredibly low incidence of side effects and allow children to wait until they are adults to decide how they want their body to develop. Blocking that forces so many children to go through irreversible puberty as the wrong gender, forcing more extreme intervention later and cause all sorts of mental issues including suicide. There is NO legitimate reason to ban puberty blockers.
I've heard of health systems pulling back from supporting trans youth - but not any doctors. Even then, the health systems are only doing that because they're religious (and they're just using this moment to their benefit) or they're non-profit institutions that rely on federal funding (which has been threatened to be cut if they provide trans-youth care).
At this point, they're too far in. If they pulled back now and printed an article saying "It turns out the 'gender critical' movement was started by billionaire pedophiles who wanted to socially ostracize an entire minority class into sexwork for their own perverse gratification," then they need to also publicly acknowledge the fact that the ENTIRE legacy media apparatus - willingly or otherwise - directly served the interest of those same billionaire pedophiles.
They're so far in that even when they all turn on Ben Shapiro and start shoveling their heaps of bullshit onto him, he still can't smell it and pathetically resorts to begging them to turn their attention back to trans people - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSUNJKsrQOA
They either got tricked by the worst people on the planet, or they worked with them willingly. Either way is a bad look that can (or, at least, SHOULD) sink entire corporations.
It really is deeply disquieting how much of the entire western capitalist system is built around a couple dozen cannibals and child rapists, to the extent that holding them accountable threatens to upend society as we know it.
You'll get downvoted but actually messaging phrased in this manner (or similar) is a huge barrier in the way of getting people to understand things. And it's weaponised by certain groups as they steer people towards anti-intellectualism; it makes the average human feel stupid when they don't understand (which then becomes frustration that can be directed).
Depends on who her audience is. I doubt this is to convince maga or maga adjacent. It's most likely to convince the liberal centrists who think it's all no big deal and swallow the "both sides have good points" lies.
i dont understand what these fuckers have to even gain from this sort of deceptive practice, guess they really drink the koolaid and think suppressing trans people actually gets rid of them?
They want to throw trans people into the same concentration camps they throw immigrants and then make sure that as many of us as possible are raped and beaten to death. That's what they hope to gain. They want to make the existence of trans people punishable by death. Failing that they want to convince as many people as possible to attack, harass, and murder trans people for the same reason.
I disagree with the idea that you can't take action just because of that. They're trying to hurt you anyway, sabotaging their attempt would be better than hoping this psa reaches anyone who might respond to the survey
you don't understand, they're not trying to collect accurate data, they're going to use the data you give them no matter what it is to try and harm us. It's better to not give them ANY information at all.
And go where? Few places are accepting trans refugees and fewer still from the US. Most can't afford their own medicine much less the move somewhere safer.
I am in favour of puberty blockers, but this doesn’t really represent the article very well. In fact, I’d say this hyperbolic tweet is more of a masterclass in manufacturing consent. The article is more an exploration of doubt.
Yeah, so, the fact that the article starts out by citing the Cass report as a gotcha, implying it was a legitimate study, instead of a politically motivated biased hit piece that was misinterpreted, with clear methodological flaws, is pretty telling.
The shift has been laws being put in place, and doctors deciding that they would rather avoid being sued by 1 patient than give care to the 99 that would benefit. Not that it wouldn’t help the patients, just that no doctors get sued refusing care.
not everyone agrees. Children aren't exactly the most stable humans out there and just happily hopping into helping them stall their development because they feel another gender is... dubious in most cases. I know that from my own case. If I grew up today I'd be probably much more confused than I was back when I was an early teen. Turned out it was just a phase and it passed, as will for most others. This topic needs care and sanity and all we're getting is the usual I'M RIGHT AND YOU'RE A *****
The article is lying about that. That's why it's bad. It's lying about there being a debate or doubt. The point of the article is based on a lie, one used to get groups to capitulate to the fascists who want dead trans kids.
And you've bought it and are now perpetuating the same bigoted talking points that they use to hurt trans children.

Fuck transphobes. Transphobia should not be any more acceptable than racism, misogyny, or any other form of bigotry/hate.

This is going to hurt children. Potentially very seriously, up to and including leading to suicide for some. You proud of that, Helen Lewis?
meme2zombie
It already is, the child suicide rate has already spiked in the UK due to their anti-trans laws.
And as Biker said, that's the goal.
bikergeek6249
I'm sure she is, because that's the intended consequence. Low-effort genocide.

Exploration of doubt over something that every expert on the topic agrees on and only bigots are against IS the problem this tweet is talking about.

What exactly is it lying about? It names names. Your wishful thinking doesn’t make reality what you want it to be. You’re behaving like Trump.

Asked and answered. Me calling out liars isn't fascist behaviour just because fascists lie about people lying.

Your use of logic in incomprehensively poor comparing them to Trump; shows how dishonest and in bad faith you're debating. Educate your ignorance.
