There was a CSI episode where a young woman was trying to get into a club. The security scanned her and it alarmed at her crotch. She replied “I pierced my kitty”
I kept setting off airport and court house detectors. They thought something was up my vag and had to wand me every time. I only now, 10 years layer, figured out that surgeons intentionally left 3 artery clips in my groin after my heart ablation.
By what I can find: Probably not. While the detector can technically find non-ferrous metals, it's less sensitive to those and the IUD only has a very small amount of copper.
Or the zipper. A friend of mine got scaned and his zipper set it off. Without missing a beat he said it was his metal penis. The guard was questioning life for a second before he said it was a metal zipper.
I have a piece of metal (probably titanium?) inserted the length of my right tibia and it tells me when airport security is worried about something because only sometimes do they crank up the sensitivity of their scanners around here for me to set them off.
Normal scanners - might be pins apart from the rod which set things off? It's just normally it doesn't, but sometimes (and I think I've had some corroboration of this) they get on an alert and crank up the sensitivity, enough for me to set it off. I've got a pon in my right elbows holding the dead of my radius bone as well but it never sets anything off.
It's gotta be a sensitivity thing, the only other metal that would get used in the human body is platinum which for obvious reasons wouldn't normally be used lol. Other metals could degrade and cause blood poisoning
She would have made a great pink ranger if they had made a reboot movie in around 2005 that had a darker more serious tone, like what they did with the 2017 movie.
The writer's strike didn't help, but the issue was it was planned to be a 1 season show. The story had a path and end point, and it did it incredibly well. But it did so well that NBC wanted more, and you saw what they cobbled together trying to make more story.
They didn't have the budget for a good final fight, but otherwise it was awesome! I like to pretend Alphas season 1 is Heroes season 2. Group is finally together working as a group, ironing out their kinks, etc
The show got royally screwed. Went from such a promising start to floundering with too many plot threads that couldn't be resolved in time after the loss of momentum and change in production schedule from the Writers Strike.
It was supposed to be an anthology series with an overarching plot connecting things but the show was truncated in length which made the plot a jumbled mess trying to cram in key points.
Writers strike didn't fuck up any shows. The spineless strikebreakers and 3rd rate "comrade pig" writerlings who sold out to write for those shows instead fucked it up.
they also went from a 24 episode season to a 11 episode season abruptly.. Lots of stories ideas unfinished, and suddenly no writers.. Then they tape and cut what they had together for a shorten filming deadline also.

Honestly this is just kinda uncomfortable to me, now.

Couldn’t it just be the zipper and button in the jeans?

I call BS! He had the right guess! Given the state of women's pockets, keys were an unreasonable answer.
Grimmrog
would it detect IUD contraceptives?
Maraxus
By what I can find: Probably not. While the detector can technically find non-ferrous metals, it's less sensitive to those and the IUD only has a very small amount of copper.

She looks a lot like Madisson Scott..
Gigas85
Hello my fellow person of culture. I see you dabble in the finer arts...

She looks a lot more like Hayden Panettiere...

I loved her on Malcom in the middle.

Whait... It's Hayden Penettiere? I didn't recognize her with that hairstyle. ^^
OrkenMork
I know, right? Rather fuzzy!

I had the great vision to say to myself, Heroes season 1 is excellent, I should probably stop here. And I did.

ItHappenedInThe20thCentury
I might have to rewatch that first (and only) season, it's been a minute.
krunksplein
I should have listened. "Hey, they have already introduced a hero and a villain with All The Powers, this can only go downhill."
CitrusyGarlic
Nah season 2 is great as well, but definitely stop there
MithridateEupator
She's pretty upset that that guy is doing his job and not saying anything.

yea, who doesn't take their keys out of the pocket when going through the detector, too.

shit, that's a modern version of your arthritis flaring up when it's gonna rain. Excellent.
LordOfTastyCheez
I read this before my coffee and saw labia instead of tibia. Says something about me I guess...
bamblebimble
Titanium is normally what's used for medical stuff. Are you saying the metal detectors go off for it?! Or the full body scanner?
Fentex

Titanium, I'm told, has a unique property in which it gradually blends with bone.

? Kimberly was like 12 years before heroes
ydwyrd
It's possible they're talking about one of the, by my count, 14 Pink Rangers that came after Kimberly...but that still doesn't make a lot of sense.
Eyeetsass
Nah, we’re always talking about Kimberly ;-)

2nd half of season 2 and all of season 3 SUCKED.
Hashbrown123
4 kinda got good again. You had Darth Maul and T-Bag as the villains.
Zetor
Yup. That series had so much potential.
nation543
Season 4 was the worst of it. I couldn't make it more than a couple of episodes in, it was just... so... so, so, so BAD.
IgnisInvictus
It got so bad. I didn't even bother to watch the rest of season 2.
caledric
Did you know there was a 4th season? I just found out when I went to IMDB.
IgnisInvictus
No. No, I did not. Might be worth reading the synopsis, but that's probably it.
blurp9000
Writer’s strike. I ‘member.

Nostradamuswaswrong
Yup, killed a few shows. How much money the corpos lost due to killing their own IPs out of greed we may never know.
blurp9000
It did give us Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog but that hardly even things out with all the shows that got axed.

they always tax write off those and claim they made a ton of money anyway: Bonus PLEEZ!

I still enjoyed it. Maybe the could reboot the original and fix it story. We don't talk about the sequel.

I forgot the show!
SneakorsMcSneakorsface
What? It was great all the way through. Shame they never made a second season.

Just like how it’s such a pity they never made a sequel to Highlander.

It seemed like an awesome premise with no actual plot in mind.
TheDoctorCrankenstein
It was supposed to be an anthology series with an overarching plot connecting things but the show was truncated in length which made the plot a jumbled mess trying to cram in key points.
Eddafred
I have fond memories of the first season. Which are largely offset by the other three. 😭
JollyJokzr
Three!? I think I stopped watching during season two because the story made no sense anymore
Hypothesist
writers strike fucked that series and it just couldn't bounce back
RyanSilver612
YHE EXECUTIVES who forced the writers strike fucked that series!!
allenvasher3000
I have the DVDs & there was a whole nuclear weapon person but storyline but because of 9/11 they cut it.
mercyPandaRunner
Writers strike didn't fuck up any shows. The spineless strikebreakers and 3rd rate "comrade pig" writerlings who sold out to write for those shows instead fucked it up.
Frobizzle
Convenient excuse to what was probably inevitable anyway. Not a lot of shows from that era knew where they were going with the plot.
mercyPandaRunner
Still don't
MADchemEE
And Journeyman. I was getting into that. Had a decent wrap up nonetheless.
(Yay, Moon Bloodgood!)

And "Life" (Damien Lewis, Sarah Shahi). Great start but after the strike it wasn't fun anymore.

They wanted to change the cast over every season and NBC said no. They had no plays for the season 1 cast after that arc concluded.
