He had a year of all the fat juicy NYC rats he could eat!
trumpcult
Such a beautiful owl, it's heartbreaking to think that Flaco will never soar above the NYC skyline again. I'm sure he will be a missed presence in the city, may his spirit continue to be present, and to inspire. He was free and lived his best life. Just said it was shortened by such a thing as a building.
midwaylobster
I hope Flaco enjoyed that year of freedom. <3

"Flew into a building"? Huh...owl be damned
IDoPictureStuff

Fly free, Flaco. It sucks that humanity tried to give you a better life only to have humanity take it away.

Why wasn't the building watching where it was going? smdh.

Maybe he should have been allowed to live in his natural habitat instead of in the middle of Manhattan. (I am against capturing and caging wild animals for people's amusement.)
Cargobiker530
Freaking wizards sending notes to people in buildings where the windows never open. 🤬
SisterInked
No!!! How infuriating! I hope they find whoever vandalized his habitat and put them in jail.
CptnApplesauce
Oh no it's Harambe all over again
WowSoSparkly
More than likely he was not used to free fly like that, and I would guess he was completely unable to navigate the winds that surround tall buildings. Poor guy.
helyx
Dicks out for Flaco

Channel 5 news here with footage taken at time of the accident showing a local's reaction.
APassingPlasticBag
Who else is rooting for climate change at this point? Humanity needs a hard reset.
BluePaladin42
Maybe if it wasn't going to take a huge amount of the world's ecosystem out too. And yes, I am aware that it will recover, just like it has recovered from all the other extinction events, but that's cold comfort for all the biodiversity that's going to be sacrificed first.
tommytraddles
He was suddenly thrust into a complex world he had no hope of understanding, and it killed him. In this we are more alike than different.
Akaszkronos
Thrust into a complex could also mean hitting a building

Who vandalizes a fucking zoo

Stoopidz who also write cryptic crap all over the place.

PETA, maybe? Kids, also maybe?
ObiWanValJean
People taking random jabs at PETA are proof the misinformation campaign against PETA worked extremely well. PETA harming a zoo with relations to the WCS is obviously ridiculous, WCS is one of the most important animal conservation charities in the US, and the Central Park Zoo falls under its umbrella. “Petakills” is funded and ran by a lobby group representing slaughterhouses, fast food and chain restaurants that were “coincidentally” exposed as cruel to livestock by PETA.

You couldn’t be more wrong 👆
ObiWanValJean
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Center_for_Organizational_Research_and_Education The people behind the company that funds Petakills literally admit they use disinformation campaigns that target regulation watchdogs including any meat alternatives and environment protections.
Lexgeddon
Not really a random jab.
ObiWanValJean
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Center_for_Organizational_Research_and_Education Just please do some research and judge for yourself whether or not PETA truly is evil, and don’t base them on the words of groups that run ads during the Super Bowl against meat alternatives and proudly boast about disinformation campaigns against the EPA.
Lexgeddon
I don't believe I called PETA evil. I said they are a possible suspect in sabotaging a zoo enclosure.
