Accents and dialects in real life can be amusing, too. I am from the US. In the mid-80s I lived in Germany with my now ex who was in the USAF. After living in Germany for 3 years, I went to Scotland and was happy I wouldn't need to do mental translations as much. Then I asked for the time at a bus stop and got the answer in Broad Scots that, if I didn't see her watch, would have made no sense to me.
No lie, I grew up in a NYC suburb, currently work with a Louisiana good old boy. He sounds just like Gambit in Deadpool.
"Hey man, can we get some of duh all for duh plaus, weez runnin' low." What? "Duh all, it dat heavy. Need it for duh plaus." ...Can you text that to me?
*Hands me an empty bottle of Pennzoil and points to a snowplow.* Ohhhh. Great guy, just a heavy accent barrier.
Buddy of mine is from the deep bayou parts of LA and I regularly remind him G is a letter, *use it* ffs. And yeah 'bro just text me that' has saved us so many awkward conversations.
I barely eat out or get take away any more, everything in TO seems so expensive and crap nowadays to me. I’m old and grumpy. At least the local Indian is still really good.
assuming warpfactor is accurate in his statement, then your statement is objectively false.. as your original premise is that they're both canadian... and as roger/nigel was not born, and never resided in canada, no matter how many things are true, the original premise is not on that list, sorry

Like someone from Boston asking for directions in Louisiana.
sauronater
I'm from Michigan and was doing some work in the mountains in Tennessee.. almost impossible to understand some of the hill folk there lol
CarInAVet
Boston and New Orleans actually have really similar accents, due to both having lots of Irish immigrants around the same time.
HamSlamwich
I have lived in the west my whole life(WA,CA,UT). Once i get east of the Mississippi, every accent sounds like a performance.

Never been to Minnesota, ey?

I'm not sure whether the food changed, or I got old, but many things are not as delicious as they once were.

I noticed that was the only part that didn't make it into the subtitles though...

Lmao. I was quoting the video. "Your accent sound weird too, also."

These guys are both Canadian.
Macetheace50
They are? Eh?
BTW it is Donair in Canada.

CALAMOSCOPYJANE
Coquitlam is way over in BC.
CALAMOSCOPYJANE
Not in Toronto. The only places that call it donair here are the Nova Scotian transplants.
CALAMOSCOPYJANE
Yeah they’re in Toronto, for sure. Google Shelby’s Legendary Shwarma

I saw that! And the pushback from Ng's fans was akin to that old quote about "the comments on any article about feminism justify feminism"
In interviews, and out of character, Nigel Ng seems like a good guy, but his fans are the fucking worst
warpfactor1
No
Uncle roger/Nigel ng is from malaysia
CALAMOSCOPYJANE
Malaysian-Canadian, no? I’m pretty sure they’re not filming this skit in Malaysia; check out the trees, and note the reference to “the Canadian way”.
CaveJohnsonHatesLemons
Wtf is the infatuation with making Uncle Roger canadian?
MAL. AY. SIAN. Say it with me. Malaysian. Hes a citizen of... Malaysia.
No canada. Fooyoh. Nephew CALA need more lab grade meth that they sell in America to kids. Make him focus.
warpfactor1
Uncle roger was born and raised in malaysia, then moved to london for a bit; now based in southern cali
CALAMOSCOPYJANE
More than one thing can be true. People travel. They filmed that skit in Toronto. Google Shelby’s Legendary Shwarma
DevilsAdvocat

They might have filmed the skit at the shwarma guy's place in canada
But in no way is nigel ng (uncle roger) canadian, not even a little bit
CALAMOSCOPYJANE
Ok
CaveJohnsonHatesLemons
Hes a natural born malaysian citizen. Not sure why youre pulling the angsty teenager "ok" when theyre right lol.
