He did call shotgun!  Heartwarming reunion.

Doggo, Piper was lost for 2 weeks. Showed up at Genesee County Animal Shelter and informed the family.

That little tail! I love your dog!

I would have been genuinely upset if I was being filmed during a moment like this. Id be so goddamn offended.

I really hate the way parents video their kids in the most private of moments and share it widely.

Yo wtf v

Well that kid's not getting any homework done tonight. (and rightly so)

That's the happiest a Buffalo Hockey fan has been in decades.

Bro got a pug. And all I got was socks.

This is the good shit here. More like this please.

Super heartwarming but... maybe didn't need to be recorded? Be in the moment with your kid instead of recording his most vulnerable moments to post on social media.

If I were that boy, i might react negatively to being filmed in a vulnerable situation at a later time. Guess it's MOSTLY an american thing.

Gotta say the number of ribbons on that poor dog is telling. This is a narcissistic parent looking for likes.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

I know a lot of you won't know where I'm coming from, but this is performative. You don't need ribbons to surprise your kid that your dog came back. He would have reacted the same without them, hell I would have too. I would go deeper into my own trauma/problems with narcistic parents, but you all are not therapists.

I have watched this a thousand thousand times. And I will watch it every time it pops up. O yes.

I remember seeing this a few years ago. Piper the dog was a gift for his 12th birthday. His family got him it after the devastation of losing his little brother. When Piper went missing Carter was heartbroken. Then a pet shelter called with good news. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgEe3KbL3jA

Stop breeding, buying, and glorifying bracycephalic dogs.

We had a cat missing for 7 weeks. A neighbor in another part of the neighborhood saw our signs and noticed a new feral behind their house, and we got our cat back.

It was like she didn't recognize us at all. A bit like PTSD. Her markings were unique, like a tabby with swirls of tortie on her back, we were positive it was her. But it was like she'd never been in a house before. Not like a true feral, not defensive or hiding, just skittish.

We loved her anyway, but it was harder to reintegrate.

The one that sentence is written gives the impression Piper herself informed the family

Fuck off for filming this.

9 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

You're getting down voted but honestly yeah. Like, sure, maybe video it for your family, but to film and post your kids having strongly emotional moments online is not cool.

Needed that today. Thsnk you. *hugs*

You okay?

I'm managing, but it's been a shitty week. Yesterday hornets erupted from our kitchen ceiling, for example, so...this was good. :)

Well, damn! Hornet infestation was not one of my guesses :) hope the weekend treats you better! Have a good one.

That's not a reunion to be done in a car. The dog is going to pee with excitement and try to jump in 8 directions at once, the kid probably about the same. Some joy is too much to be contained.

There's a towel on the car seat and it looks like they're that shitty cheap leather that lasts for like, six years before it starts to peel.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

A price that I would be more than willing to pay. Bring on the golden showers of joy.

9 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Which might be what the blanket on the seat is just in case of.

If it's an older dog possibly no, but even if it did, I'd be ok with that.

Although you're right that home is the best place to reunite I also think it is worth it.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh it doesn't have to be at home, I'm just saying let the dog out of the car.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well good thing it's not your dog, not your child, not your car,not your business.

In life it is either dogs pee or kids pee so take your turn.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Happeeness, if you will.

9 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

My last dog if she didn't she my parents for 4 or more days the reunion has to be outside because she would pee. But me? A day and a half & she would pee twice. That girl was a bundle of love, energy & dumber than a sac of rocks, but damn she was a good girl.

I had a female German Shepard that would wait for me to get home from school on my bed and then pee when I got home;on my bed of course. She figured out the door to the garage and the garage door opener switch and started letting herself out to wait by the street for my bus. I preferred having to constantly clean my bed, but the adults around me were worried about the potential break ins. Also yes I know it was a training thing, but you try telling 90lbs of separation anxiety no

There's always one. Hate to be the "generations" person, but idk if this is just a gen z thing of performative intellectualism/compassion where they just /have/ to find something to nitpick about a video to show that they are a better person than the one recording. It's beyond frustrating.
