Like what gives. A picture showing half my face at an unflattering angle that focuses on MY BIRD and I'm yelled at for some 'No selfies' rule but someone posts their boobs on purpose and y'all love it.

Personally, I don't care for either -- and this includes cosplayers unless they're showing the process of something (makeup, clothes, told, etc ). A selfie showing off a bird that is about the bird should be cool, though.

I think selfies are considered so bad on Imgur because it's a way to differentiate itself from social media sites. If you're showing just a picture of your face that you've taken yourself, odds are you're not contributing anything but your face. There are whole platforms for that. Imgur's culture, such as it is, tends to promote funny or interesting content, not just "here's a picture of me". As for boobs, that's been addressed by other comments.

80-90% of the time absolutely. But there are exceptions to the rule. If its a REALLY funny joke or if it's political and relevant it could get a pass because like all things...its a grey area. In the comments of those posts you will see this debate happening there.
