Personally, I don't think Trump should have done it, especially at Israel's request. But since Trump does everything Netanyahu wants (including letting the Israeli PM run Gaza for the rest of his life, even after his term ends), it happened. Instead of dying of old age, which likely would have happened soon anyway, Kamenei is now a martyr in the eyes of the religious, right-wing nutjobs who've run Iran for decades.
Why on earth would a self-proclaimed Leftist like Cenk praise a dictator in a religious ethnostate where women are oppressed and trans people are killed just for existing? Because he hates the US, plain and simple. So why would he stay here? Because despite claiming to be a fan of socialist policies he still gets to live his best life under Capitalism here, safely criticizing Democrats while buddying up to people like Charlie Kirk, and suppressing his workers when they want to unionize. Don't worry, that story has a happy ending. TYT workers unionized behind his back after he quashed their first attempt.
