Flock should be banned. At the federal level but county by country, state by state if need be. They all belong in the trash compactor along with any other license plate cameras
Kind of start looking like Arab spring. They are grabbing people's phone but people steam. So They prob gonna start to mess with cellphone signal. People should start to have alternative communication plans.
My neighbor has one of these—we live on the top floor of a high-rise condo with key-card access elevators and 24-hour security. Why are they monitoring our comings and goings?! I want to rip it off the door every time I walk past.
I guess this is good information but I don’t know what I am to do about it…. There are cameras in every intersection on every main road where I live. Am I just meant to take side streets everywhere I go in public?
Recommend? I want something with similar features that doesn't need a subscription. Motion sensor that notifies my phone, can check live video, preferably saves video to phone memory. Motion sensor + live video most important for security at home.
I've bought a Reolink Wifi Camera, with battery, for $125.
Doesn't need a subscription & will notify you on the phone app. Records to local memory, and can record to a local device. You can set up your own home server and have it upload the videos there; you do not need to buy their storage system. You can share the camera with other people living in the same apartment / house.
You can get a plan to upload pics to their cloud for $5-$6/month, but it's totally optional. I don't have it myself.
Nothing extraordinary. It does the job. It's given us peace of mind, especially when we were on travel. Also, it has a doorbell button, and will notify you if someone's at the door. You can talk with them and see them live.

Mine's be defunct for a few years, but I trashed the battery last night for the 18650s.

What is this, "now" business? Any idiot that bought one of these has been aiding mass surveillance from the start. That includes my idiot brother.

Corporations are always going to hand over your data for a bucket load of cash.

I recently bought a camera and I purposefully avoided Ring cameras or anything connected to Flock for this reason.

You can see the camera live, with sound, anytime, even if nobody's there or if nobody presses the doorbell button.
It's worked pretty well so far. No complaints.

Excellent that's what I need, thanks!
