Buying shell, Exxon, chevron stocks was the single best thing I did. It sucks but they are raping us. Why not make some money.

Exxon's statement:

"We intend to profit immensely off of every last second of the climate's utter collapse that we knowingly helped usher in."

They're saying this because they want you to lose hope. They want you to say "oh what does it matter?" and just chuck your ballot in the trash. This is what their lobbying to prevent new blood from being elected looks like, while they continue to chuck billions at the old folks in congress re-elected as a result.

Exxons shareholders "overwhelmingly rejected calls for stronger measures to mitigate climate change." And so the world burns.

Hope these guys are the first against the wall when the environmental riots start. Known for decades and proceed to gaslight the fuck out of us for their profits. My carbon footprint is meaningless next to yours.

Guys who destroyed the world say we didn't do enough to prevent them from destroying the world

Exxon is pretty sus

There's only one source I'll trust on this: hank green. No doubt the man is fallable, but I've more faith in his efforts than in anything else.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What efforts is he taking?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aside from various charity and donation efforts, mostly educational. He's the co creator of sci show and crash course, easily the most well made and globally beneficially educational resource made in decades (speaking as an active uni student here, but my professors have been equally enthusiastic). As much as that though, he's an individual with a proven track record of being informed, realistic and honest. He's not gonna bullshit you but he's also not defeatist. We need that. More of that.

Or they just saying that so people will look at it, shrug, and give up

Zero money should be 'profits' for any oil companies while there are still oil spills that need cleaning up.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, not the world set to fail - Exxon and other big oil companies are purposely failing us.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey Exxon, feel free to take the brunt of that.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

thanks exxon

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And their narrative is what? Guess we'll have to deal with it, so why not make it worse?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's because you don't recycle enough and don't walk everywhere insisting on eating daily!

Well, they would know since they are a big part of the cause.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well once that is done, they will just have a free for all cause it don't matter anymore? Not like it does now, but they won't need to suppress it... raises for all the stockholders woot

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

That is, in all practical considerations, what's happening now.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Yeah but look at the money that they can save by not spending on suppression of climate change and more green tech

Nofuckingbody is pretending it's only them at fault. What kind of strawman is this?

2 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 2

Fuck off cunt. The problem exists because of governments complete unwillingness to hold those responsible, accountable because of money. The first talk of climate changing, planet warming because of our actions are over a century old now and they still did nothing. Even now no government is really willing to act with any kind of genuinely worthwhile legislation to tackle it because they know the peille aren't going to accept the huge sacrifices that they feel they will be subject to.
