I don't travel cause I'm American poor (almost paycheck to paycheck) but if I did I would use a fake accent. No matter how bad.

Upvoted in hopes some day people will be free to vote for who best represents them. Getting rid of First Past the Post voting (the electoral system most states use) will allow people to freely vote 3rd party if they wish with no chance for a spoiler effect. This would introduce competition into the electoral process, improving the quality of candidates available for everyone. Plus it would engage more people to vote and be involved in politics. Peace yall

Sad part is that right now, voting for a third party may as well be voting for the worst person, like in the case of Trump vs Biden, voting for a 3rd party would only take votes away from Biden because the morons that vote for Trump would never switch to a third party...

Interested in a short video on our mathematically flawed First Past The Post electoral system?

We should be able to vote for who best represents us while counting our vote against those we don't want in office. Electoral reform is possible at the state level, outside the two party system. Alaska and Maine have already moved past FPTP, you can to!

Do non-Americans realize that the overwhelming majority of Americans who travel (i.e. actually have a passport) abroad don't want anything to do with Turmp?

The Americans I’ve met around the world have all been great. Most of the ones I’ve met in the US has too, but not all.

Wildly enough, it's this way with almost all people. In general, mostly good. But there's some very loud and vocal shitty ones that can make you think otherwise.

depends on where you travel. The idea the the rest of the world uniformly hates america is wrong and the idea that the rest of the world uniformly respects Biden more than Trump or Bush is also wrong.

I've had way more awkward conversations about how great Bush Jr is while abroad than I've ever had at home.

True, but I've spent some time in Europe, and I can say that literally everyone I talked to absolutely loved Whitney Houston and Dolly Parton. The takeaway? Don't talk home politics when out and about; talk about Dolly Parton

yeah absolutely dont start talking about politics but sometimes people just start with you

I worked at a restaurant in 2017 in denmark. A guy wearing a MAGA hat comes in, orders a beer and food. While waiting he started ranting about how we we're all communists, and how Trump was a sign from god. Whole kitchen staff took turns gargling his beer before it was served to him.
