I installed my own ceiling lamps in this apartment after watching a YT video & it's a miracle I didn't electrocute myself. One day the lamp in my hallway no longer responded to the light switch. Instead the switch now turns on the light in the outside corridor. And when I turn it on in here, it can't be turned off with any switch in the corridor (which has driven my downstairs neighbor crazy at times). I have no idea why that is & and now I'm too scared to check out or mess with the wiring again

No worries, I would let the baby go crazy for a bit then take it off and let them chase a regular toy that they could catch. Just like with a laser toy, give them a minute or two of craziness then reign them in. I appreciate your concern though, it is well-placed
