26 Imgur Creator Spotlight: @mydrawings17 did this cool henna design. Check out their posts for more!

27 Man Tax: Jensen Ackles

“Wherever you come near the human race there's layers and layers of nonsense.” - Thornton Wilder

So, I made a discord server. It's a relaxed environment where you can take/donate memes to the cause, play trivia twice a week, chat about lots of topics or about nothing at all. We also have Jack Box game night and are setting up movie night! Very laid back/relaxed vibe. Come hang with us.

I'm also on the imgcat server for updates & fun:

***Also if you miss abbiistabbii's discord community good news! Here's the new one https://discord.gg/NPStJGgARq - where everyone's reconnecting, shitposting, and hanging out again***

#12 Stop feeding the gremlins after midnight!

1 month ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Fk the auto feeder, I should upload the scars my cats have given me because that feeder was worth my blood loss. and they have other food available. they even know how to ask for the soft food, but that auto feeder is Pavlov's leg shedder button.

#20 This is a huge no from me. Anyone else spot the one noodle that dangled into the bowl water?

#20 I thought this was some kind of upgrade to the poop knife.

#7 If anyone is curious about this location it's called Le Madrid on highway 20 between Montreal and Quebec City. It's now a rest area with Mcdonald's and other fast foods, but it used to be a quirky restaurant, hence the dinosaurs' existence. They kept them around because the spot is iconic.

So the guy in the video is just French Canadian. That explains so much.

#20 I was half sure this was going to go the poop knife route. I'm only half sure this is better.

I totally forgot cheetah young’ins look a little like honey badgers (the top)

1 month ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

And I just learned that it’s an adaption to keep them safer when young. Nature you crazy!

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

No one wants to fight a Honey Badger. Not even other Honey Badgers.

Even when the prank is completely harmless, he just don't miss.

1 month ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Who is he?
I don’t know either of them?
Non-yank

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

oh i aint a yank either, but the guy is Johnny Knoxville of Jackass fame.
and if you don't know Jackass, it was a show (and a few movies) that was either gross stuff, or the kind of stuff you see attached with the title "i wonder why women live longer than men", as the demonstration for why.

#11 no lie this is what I hear when technicians and mechanics explain anything to me. I understand how things function but it all sounds like jargon when you start to break it down.

1 month ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Reminds me of the plumbus making sequence from Rick & Morty

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot of that's on purpose.

Might go back to medieval guilds who closely guarded the trade secrets of their professions. But you also need terms to describe all the little details of a craft, and sometimes commonly used words aren't sufficient. E.g., letter spacing and kerning aren't the same thing. Letter spacing (called tracking in typography; that one was an unnecessary addition) is applied uniformly across an entire line while kerning adjusts individual letter pairs. Line spacing & the typographic term leading aren't …

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

the same thing either. Line spacing is expressed as a percentage of font size like 140%, whereas leading is expressed in point. Hot metal typesetters didn't have the time to do math. When they were told "10 point Times with 12 point leading", they knew to grab a bunch of 2-point leads, thin metal pieces that were placed between the lines. This terminology has endured to this day in digital typesetting / DTP, but word processing software came up with their own alternate terms.

PS: It's incredibly frustrating when you're bilingual and have spent decades honing your second language, and one day you want to use a certain technical jargon or access a subset of knowledge (songbird species, trees, edible mushrooms, whatever) and realize that you only have this vocabulary in one language. All of a sudden it's like you don't speak the other language at all. And a lot of technical jargon can't be found in dictionaries.

#14 Very promising! But no one's cutting trees to make pallets, they're already made of waste lumber.

1 month ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

And wood is already eco-friendly and renewable.

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Took forestry in college, practice what I can on my 3 acres. I find most people think we're making shopping bags out of old-growth forests. If any capitalistic venture is more focused on sustainability and use of waste, I don't know of it. Took a field trip to a lumber mill in college ('91), completely self-powered from waste. No, burning wood ain't great, but they weren't digging up coal to power it.

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Still it is nice to see people using a waste product that literally goes to waste

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

No problem with it! Don't know the acidity, but it looks like prime mulch as it.
