One day after eight million people marched in protest, the country quietly resumed springtime activities around vacations, basketball, and upcoming holidays.

Lost in the day's sheer normalcy was Donald Trump's interview with the Financial Times, where he mused openly about invading Iran with ground troops. He told the paper that American forces could seize Kharg Island, Iran's main oil terminal, and admitted they would have to stay. This war is 32 days old and has spread across eight countries. Iran is threatening American and Israeli officials wherever they live and travel, including in Europe. Financial markets are spooked again, with oil prices jumping back to $116 a barrel after settling late last week.

The last time a world war started, Americans managed to look the other way for more than two years. The internet won't grant us that luxury again. Pay attention this week.

ICE allowed to once again operate outside their jurisdiction

Not only is the US considering ground forces (in mountainous terrain against snipers and drones), but Israel said they likely won't be sending any troops.

The only article I can find is Reuters w/ a paywall.
There should be free stories soon.

TLDR - We bankroll their genocide (+ universal healthcare by proxy) so they can spectate their own war.
Fart of the deal, y'all!

Thank you for your service. Hate reading these every day. But so very glad you put them up for us. Thank you good sir.

You're very welcome. I also hate them, but am glad that they exist because many people who write or comment genuinely need this to stay informed.

Thank you, George

Last time there was a world war America looked the other way, this time they're fucking starting it!

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

yes.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

replace everything with ice and have an army you can control, was always the plan

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

#4 Can they beat him up for the prize instead?

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Bam. Winner.

I am so looking forward to the wreckage that will happen with his UFC cage fight. So much to go wrong with that.

1 week ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Wow. So trump is the idiocracy president. I disnt think we'd get there in my life time

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, he's not. I have no doubt he's the president that will lead TO Idiocracy but he is most certainly not President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho.

2. I see Trompf's "negociations" with Iran are going well.

It's 18D chess. You wouldn't understand. /s

Again... those tickets to the UFC event are 'free' because they are most likely to watch it on screen from the National Mall as there isn't room for them (and the Secret Service would never allow them to be) on the White House grounds.

100%

I took my youngest to the Easter Egg Roll years ago. They can cram in 3,000 to 5,000 people depending on the configuration. It will be madness on a typical sticky hot DC summer night.

Short but consequential update. Protests mean nothing to these imbeciles. Noteworthy thang Cuba getting oil relief from Russia is a nuke-level soft power opportunity that the US created. Good job Prez.

Soft piles of cat. Thanks as always or your service OP!

FOTUS doesn't like the protests, they put his screw-ups on display. Perhaps more significantly, protests show folks that agree with us that they are not alone, and those that disagree that their numbers are dwindling. (And that they can change their mind.)

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree! I didn't mean to imply that protests are useless. The solidarity people feel from seeing such a demonstration is necessary if we're ever going to unite and organize.

I'm sure there's -got- to be a worse timeline. This just can't be the absolute worst one, right?

Thanks for continuing to document @GeorgeBounacos

1 week ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

It could always be worse. That doesn't make this timeline any better, though.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The worse timeline is one where the trump admin is actually competent, they have a few court cases where the judge effectively said "You can do it, just not like this."

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You forgot the best one : " Trump releasing all of the Epstein files to divert from the Iran war"....

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

#1 So he strangled Cuba... Caused death and hardship to make sure we are the bad guys... Then let Russia swoop in and be the saviors... HOW does anyone NOT think he's compromised? How?

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Because neither Trump himself nor Fox "News" said he was bad, so he must not be. They would always tell their most devout believers the absolute truth, right? /s

#4 just to understand: the orange fuck wants a cagefight party for his hopefully last birthday and a G7 summit has to be rescheduled for it?

1 week ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 0

I mean even Nero held gladiator events in the year he let Rome burn...

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

As I understand it, it doesn't have to be rescheduled, they do it because they want Trump present instead of just telling one of his lackeys how much he fucked the global economy.

So don't pay TSA agents, expect them to work for free, but pay ICE to stand around and do nothing.

1 week ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 0

Oh, it would be wonderful if all they did was nothing.

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The TSA should unionize and treat ice like scabs bring back the good old days of the old unions that actually fought for their rights you know the kind of unions that the elite billionaires are terrified of coming back.

1 week ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

The goal is to expand ICEs authority and jurisdiction by creating fake emergencies. ICE has no legal jurisdiction to play security at airports, but that's the nes norm now.

1 week ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

And to break the TSA union.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, this point isn't covered enough. They've been horrible for unions across the federal spector.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep, the GOP's private paramilitary force is taking over the US step by step.

This is what I was screaming. Fascist Germany didn't start with the concentration camps, that was the end. The first step was the slowly building hostile takeover with paramilitary groups...
