This guy is NOT the CEO of Palantir, this is satire written by a cybersecurity expert.
But it’s hard to argue with the fundamental accuracy of everything he said.

Never trust someone who compares money in motion (like GDP) with static money (wealth).

An actual quality post how refreshing.

I'm glad (not really) that using the name of JRRT's orb was done with deliberate thought and not because of "that's a cool name, bro".

The biggest problem with all these drug addled billionaires is the people they surround themselves with are never one second too late with the narcan.

And for all that money, all it would take it one brick.

Let's not pretend that Anthropic did something noble, they are fine with the military using their "product" to blow millions of people into tiny bits, just with two very, very small limitations.

"We are assholes, we don't care about ethics, morals, integrity, we only care for profits. Do as you are told, you'll make huge profits, buck the system, we will destroy you." Funny that, as that is exactly what Hitler told German Companies in 1934. The language was different, but the message was the same. How reassuring.

Wouldn't be happening if soulless people like him sold their humanity for a few dollars. The rest of us must oppose them at every step.

ah, good old fashioned fascism
tinyfootprints
I can remember watching Eisenhower give a speech (I'm old) in which he warned that if we allowed a military-industrial complex to form, then the national debt would be likely to grow past a million dollars. The last time I looked, the national debt stood at $37,000,000,000,000.00. That's well over a million times the level we were warned of.
michaelfire
Biden warned us about the billionaires, the US oligarchs created by CIA/FBI Intel fusion center war on "terror" (Blacks, the Left,, Minorities) elevation of oligarchs like Palantir's Theil (the VP's patron) Musk (the President's patron, election manipulation expert), Zuck (Remember Cambridge Analytica's theft of Brexit AND Trump's 2016 victory?) Bezos, Microsoft, Ellison, Walton, Koch, and the funders of the Federalist Society which has subborned the SCOTUS, FISA Court. It was a coup.

Alex Karp didn't write this. It is satire.

....satire which depends on accuracy to have weight. If it's completely fictional, it's just fiction not satire.

Satire has nothing to do with accuracy.

It would NOT be happening if we didn't have Fascists, Fascists HE supports, running the country.
KleptoKea
And the world will never forget how the American People continued to elect fascists, especially the child rapist in chief that they elected twice to lead them. The Americans are dooming humanity at this rate.
Hesterry
That naivete is why they are in power, as other commenters here have described quite well. You're still being fooled by the distractions, and not paying attention to the movement of money and power. Fascism is just the latest distraction.
Lugh314159
Sure it would!!!!
They might not be as brazen about it... But it would still be happening.
LeonBrooks
It would NOT be happening if the u.s. didn't have a willfully ignorant majority demographic/ majority voting bloc that put white nationalism above all else.
AndroidSoul
That isn't true though. All the fascists being in charge just makes the people like this more comfortable saying this out in the open. The system is designed to corrupt authority, to make it either follow the private money and power or be diminished to irrelevance. If the democrats were in charge, they'd be selling this too, just quietly out the back if people weren't upset, or with a sad face and statements of necessity if people were
Zamerine
My dude ... Palantir is already in Europe. That ain't no facist technology, that's a military technology that will be adopted by every one of them.
The only difference between facists and democracies will be that dems will try to hide the fact it's also used on their citizens while the facists won't care.
It's a tool far too useful for the powerful to pass on.
donthaveonebrojustlurk
What, you can't imagine a technology being the vanguard for fascism?
Zamerine
I was answering his "if Dems were in power, Palantir wouldn't be used".
As for your comment; you're correct I think, power corrupt people, so a technology that gives them more power and capacity to subvert citizens could be a vanguard for facism.
But it would just increase the odds, I cannot imagine a technology that would make it a certainty. At least, not in the current EU nor what the EU is becoming.

AI is a genie in a bottle, and the bottle's been shattered ten ways to nowhere. It has been in that bottle since the first 'computer' system was developed, and it was going to get out since the first code was input.
The problem has always been "how do we control the genie?" and "WHO controls the genie?", but since some people could benefit from releasing the genie unchecked, they've been distracting us ever since, until it's entirely too late.
DMSledge
The "AI" we have is less a genie in a bottle than it is lying machine. It says "We can skip 90% of the work by not really caring if we get the right answer." It's job is to lie. It is propaganda without direction and thought. Saying it like that I suddenly understand why half the population seems to think it is magic. AI is shouting "Fake News" for people.
It can be powerful. It can, in some cases, be useful. Mostly it feels easy.
INeedMoreGifMeMoreJustOneMore
Oh, absolutely, what we have now is actually worse than AI. But it's here, and it's controlling the market and the minds. That's enough to ruin everything.

Here’s an article in The Guardian about how commanding officers in the US military have been telling their subordinates that Trump was anointed by God to usher in the apocalypse and attacking Iran has set in motion the coming of Jesus Christ.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/mar/03/us-israel-iran-war-christian-rhetoric
Say what you want about China, but they’re secular and they’re building renewable energy and I trust them a hell of a lot more than the US government now.
MissSiesta
Sigh. Things are pretty bad for us to trust a dictatorship more than the US. But, that is the case.
Feralkyn
China's a horrible government with no human rights to speak of.
And yeah they're more trustworthy than the US. The US has become the lowest possible bar, except perhaps Russia, in terms of being trusted both domestically & in foreign politics.
killergrooves85
Motherfucker, I lived in China and I had human rights despite not being a citizen and I still have friends there who have human rights, too. There’s plenty to criticize the Chinese government over, but saying they have no human rights to speak of is an absolute crock of shit.
Feralkyn
Oh boy wait until you hear about the Uyghurs.
Like any authoritarian regime... you have "rights" until they decide you don't.
killergrooves85
Wait until you hear about immigrants in America.
Feralkyn
Whatabout...?
You do realize I said both are bad, and the US is even worse? Why on Earth do you think bringing the US up negates the absolute barbarity China can inflict on its own people (as well)?
Newdonster
"hello I'm the prime example of what Eisenhower was talking about when he said to watch out for the Military Industrial Complex. I spy on our citizens to keep them in check of ever speaking out or acting on OUR power, not to further the cause of freedom"
MadamPuddifoot
The problem is the vast majority of Americans are okay with a surveillance state.
JackSmiles2
They are not. They are ignorant of it, unable to do anything about it or bootlickers that are only ok with it because they are in a cult.
MadamPuddifoot
How many of your neighbors have ring doorbell cameras or Amazon devices?
spookyu
The fuck they are, most Americans are one missed paycheck from being homeless - that makes every decision to go against the status quo a risk that many can't consider, and of course that is by design. Most people are in a position where they don't have enough to safely fight back, but also have a ton to lose, again - by design.
MadamPuddifoot
How many people do you know that have ring doorbell cameras or Amazon devices in their homes? They're all okay with surveillance. They choose to use it every day.
spookyu
Your argument creates a false dichotomy of choice there, nobody wanted for that to happen, not to mention the huge swath of people actively replacing their Ring devices now. We are not responsible for the horrible choices these companies/organizations make, nor would we choose to enable it. That's the same argument behind "personal carbon footprint" thinking, offsetting the blame to individuals that are not actually responsible, as opposed to the organizations which are the issue.
MadamPuddifoot
A "huge" swath. Sure thing. I see them constantly still. And I never said the corporations weren't too blame, don't put words in my mouth. It's just that Americans are complacent and don't care about being in a security state. Everyone you know carries around a cell phone that's tracking every movement they make. You can easily get by without a cell phone, people choose not to.
