Studies have shown play overrides prey drive or fight or flight instincts suggesting it's a instinctual aspect survival for animals, including the human animal. An example in a study up in northern reaches of Canada, homesteader had his sley dogs outside when unfortunately a polar bear came along, which broke the owner's heart because that's typically a death sentence for at least one of the dogs. But doggo did a play bow and vid of the incident showed polar bear went from predator to play mode>
I've got a wild Canadian goose that's taken up residence in my back yard for the last 9-10 months. He likes hanging out with my duck and his honks join the cacophony of clucks and quacks when they come begging for snacks every afternoon.
There could you give me an awkward metaphor for growing up where the elk gets antlers and makes it hard for him to head the ball or whatever I don't know get around the field get stuck in the net whatever
Rather a sign of peace / no danger / no survival needs, than intelligence. I need to find source, but I read that wild reptiles tend to play in such conditions. (Won't try to play with to prove it..)
depends on how you measure intelligence. Reptiles arent going to do well on the SATs but they demonstrate all the important parts of an internal self and contextual high level understanding of the world around them

I really hope that none of those kids are named Gord.

That is The Power. The Power is the mightiest rooster who has ever walked this earth. At least that's what he claims.

My tortoise likes to play. He climbs up his ramps just to slide down and will repeatedly jump off of short drops.
AlexKeed
Just add a stream of your tortoise doing tortoise slides on YT, I'm sure there's a public for that ;)
