#4 We have two Dalmatians, which is great because you don't see the black hair on any black surface and you don't see any white hairs on any white surface

Ahh #1 your local EMS crews appreciate you medically taking care of your child so we don't have to.

Percussive education is the best. Especially when applied to MAGAt bioterrorists.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sir. Please. I signed into my imgur account for the first time in years to inform you that "percussive education" is not only my new favorite thing, but I'm stealing it.

I especially appreciate it because I'm now on a pediatric specialty rig. We still get a ton of kids with RSV in the winter, though.

I'll be first in line once they let people under 65 get that vaccine

#4 Well sure, it's easy when your dog is basically all one color. We've got one blond dog, one black dog, and a German Shepherd that fills in every shade in between.

#1 The ONLY time I will accept not vaccinating a baby (other than physically not being able to get the baby to a doctor) is if they are immunocompromised and the vaccine will do more harm than good.

#1 I grew up with children's fiction that featured things like Measles and Whooping Cough, and even mentioning things like partial paralysis from Polio. Imagine my confusion when nobody in my environment ever got any of those (I'm told I got Chicken Pox as a very young child, which I don't recall, but I do remember a few classmates getting that too at some point). The wonders of functional vaccination programs... Tetanus or rabies never even entered my radar because my country was free of them.

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

You may want to double check on the tetanus thing, my understanding is that it's present everywhere in the world, it's a bacteria that lives in soil not something that's spread person to person.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Its mostly poor wording and recall on my part. I'm aware that unlike, say, rabies or smallpox, it's not something entirely eliminated from a region (or the world). But because of the commonality of vaccines the cases are enormously low per capita compared to other nasty diseases, and they're almost all from unvaccinated people. That said, I am probably due a booster shot sometime in the next few years.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Get your boosters for tetanus, diptheria, and pertusis. Used to be 10 years, but I was told it's 7 now for Tetanus. stay alive!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Definitely overdue then, thanks for the tip.

#14 US politics in action. But remember, your team is "the lesser evil"!

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 19

"both sides" said the guy who clearly has zero fucking clue what the political world even looks like.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fuck off with this "both sides" shit. The lesser of two evil is, in fact, the lesser of two evils. We should bitch about it the whole time and try to change it but in the meantime don't let in the worse of two evils.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Agree with you 100%, but would even say that people like Bernie Sanders have genuinely devoted their lives to helping other people, and even Biden has been a devoted public servant that the most intense investigation by Republicans we have seen in my lifetime could not turn up a single wrongdoing of. I want better than the current Democratic Party in the US, but I think a decent proportion of it is actually not even a lesser evil, just a very weak good.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hey, man. One side removed "pre-existing conditions" as a way for health care to fuck you, then in the sequel, they capped insulin costs nationwide and allowed Medicare/Medicade to negotiate drug costs instead of paying whatever-the-fuck the drug industry wanted. Meanwhile, the other removed access to abortions. But yes, "both sides."

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

Ah yes, the Affordable Care Act, a literal Republican bill that was written not just by republicans, but included republican provisions that the koch brothers had been lobbying for since Reagan. And of course Biden's recent decision to cap Insulin prices at 3500% profit for insulin companies, even though the US Taxpayers funded and continue to fund the research and manufacturing that makes insulin in the first place. Tell me more about how these definitely weren't corporately lobbied decisions.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The fact that you immediately leapt to two things that Republicans have been lobbying for for thirty plus years as your example of how "progressive" the Democrats are tells me how totally uninformed you are on this subject.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Lobbying for <> achieving. And buddy, I guarantee you don't know shit but then again,

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

So to be clear your argument is "Even though it was giving the Republicans everything they wanted because the Dems passed it that makes it good"? And you think this is a sound conclusion?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

(1/6) "Giving the R everything they wanted" is an unsupported statement. So let's look at health care profits. Before ACA, Margins sat around 6%. Immediately following the ACA, they sat around 3%. And during Trump, it jumped to 8% but fluctuated between that and 4.5%. Since Biden’s implementations of new limits and rules, profits are back around 3%.
