Do large blades cut well. I love cooking but I'm terrible to my knives. Never would think to get a good one, I'd just break it.

Get some good wet stones for shaping and sharpening, and then buy cheaper knives that way if you mishandle the blade you can re-sharpen!

You don't need an expensive knife. I have Mercer and Victorinox. Use blade covers, wash by hand
