You can stop the trolley any time but everyone run over will complain that they got run over so everyone else should have to, too

If those are billionaires on the tracks, let'er rip

Impact Plastics managers in Tennessee had their hands on the lever and refused to stop the trolley.

Pretty much should be every other page of the history of civilization.

All the people on the rails are republicans.

If you stop the trolley now, it would be unfair to those whom the trolley has already passed!
(Totally not analogous to America's loan forgiveness for students)

Boeing has a trolley division?

Also, at least according to Republicans, it'd be unfair to the people the trolley has already killed to stop it now.

This is America.

You can stop the trolley at anytime but how would that be fair to the people who were already run over, they didn't have that option

The Boomer trolley problem, my favorite.

And what about the people on the trolley. They paid for a ride. Don't they deserve to have a trolley ride? Maybe if you lay on the tracks longer and harder instead of whining about getting run over then some day you might own your own trolley company!

Or you could be like Japan's bus drivers who still worked all the routes, they just refused fare for it to hurt the company but not mess with the people who rely on the transit to be affected

In the west they'd get arrested or sued or some shit

I'm fairly certain of a bus driver did this to the US they would be sued for theft.

You can stop the trolly at any time, but doing so will lead to a thank-you event where you are the guest of honor, have to give a speech, shake hands, etc.

Oh damn. Yeah they're all dead.

Listen, if you are at a "thank-you event" where you have to give a speech, it is both reasonable and optimal to go up on stage, take the mic, say "You're welcome," into it, and then walk away. Dropping said mic is optional, but encouraged.

Oh God no. Where's the lever to make it go faster?

Or... You might commit suicide by shooting yourself in the back of the head twice while falling out of a window depending on what country you are in.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's an easy solution too this problem.... *yeets self in front of trolley*

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

If you stop the trolley to save people then you can't yeet yourself in front of it. If you don't stop the trolley you don't have to go to the thank you event, and thus there's no reason to yeet yourself in front of it (except, y'know, unrelated reasons). I'm sure some philosopher has already come up with a name for this situation

A parable of the gun industry.

Or the rail industry. It seems safety is too expensive.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You know...the US isn't the only country on the planet that uses firearms, right? "Gun industry" is too broad, misleading, and uninformed.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sorry, a parable of the US gun industry. There, fixed it for you.

We're the only one that makes it easier to buy a gun than get healthcare, give zero fucks when someone's negligence allows a firearm to be stolen, and lets people with mental issues & domestic violence histories keep their guns.

More guns are stolen from CARS ALONE in Murica each year than the total privately owned guns in most countries.
