A rainbow layered cake I made FROM SCRATCH for my mom’s 70th birthday - she has helped me so much in my journey that I wanted to make it really special. Plus Kroger cakes taste artificial and their texture just can’t compare to a real vanilla cake made with fancy vanilla and gel dyes. I’m actually rather proud of how it turned out #bakewithpride #soberlife #sober

One layer for every month. Pretty soon, that cake is going to be 4 feet tall. Or I suppose you could make thinner layers, but that's not nearly as fun.

4 weeks here. I was not a terribly heavy drinker, but it certainly was every day. Trying a year without and seeing how I feel. Or a while. Not sure. Definitely need a few months at least to decide how I feel.

Thank you! I feel like everyone kinda gets tired of hearing about it once you get back in your feet - this is the longest I’ve been sober in nearly a decade - it’s so important for me to remember to celebrate it like it’s saving my life (which it 100% is)

So true I’m four months sober and have taken up running doing a half marathon November 5th. The community in recovery is the best thing that has happened to me. Such supportive loving people :)

Thank you so much, I landed an amazing job since getting sober and I feel so…dishonest about not being able to talk about why I’m having a fantastic Monday and how I nearly cry every time I think about where I was a year ago - I’m one of the lucky ones - I’m sober AND alive. A year ago I was released from the hospital after being in for a month due to full on liver failure.
