It’s my cake day and I don’t have as many users I’ve had contact with to celebrate with. Many of you beautiful bastards are great, but my usuals are gone and left since MediaLab’s purchase and handling of Imgur. So if we still chat I’m not saying you aren’t important, I’m saying I miss the olden times.
For your troubles this is my latest sauce I made! It has beets and pomegranate in it.
Flavor is amazing! I was surprised with the beets. Definitely a blood read color. I need to sit down and bottle it.

The geosmin in beets is a very strong flavor for me. I love pomegranate but it is much more muted on my palate. I'd be interested in trying that.

Yes, you are still here. And it was you who got me into fermenting hot sauces! :) Made three batches this winter: 1. Yellow rocoto/lemon pepper/bell pepper, 2. Orange habaneros/horseradish, 3. Red rocotos/ghost peppers/roasted bell peppers and carrots. So thank you for posting! 🤘🏻

Decline began 2018ish when the worst of tumblr came over. Satire and off color humor were suddenly killed off. There was a voice for everyone except the far right. Then the right was squashed. Then the middle right. Now imgur is nothing but a middle left echo chamber that no longer laughs at itself as it once did. Also, sourcing of memes has ebbed as world ran out of old paintings and original cat content.

Just a few years ago, it feels like. More content, more variety in the content, moderation that, if not more consistent, at least had people who actually responded to support tickets about unreasonable bans. Modern Imgur ignores those.

Even just like 5 years ago, stuff that hit the front page used to be thousands of upvotes, not under 200 for one thing. There are just a lot less people still active.
