That's about the only reason to visit the US, infact BBQ is specifically what I've always considered a major draw. That and nature.

So the plan is grab some Texas BBQ then drive 20 hours north to Grand Teton National Park or something.

There was likely a small tear in his eye.

2 days ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

Of course he ended his sentence with a preposition.

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

This was 30 years ago. Cause now, pretty sure he would be writing this from Africa, or whoever we paid most recently to take people the government kidnapped.

same vibes as this TBH https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EofBeeISKO4

Ahaha, and you was not dark skinned with Middle East clothe, judging by the name.

Imagine how funny could have been in that case!

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That totally happened.

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

guns was the other correct answer...

Now they'll stick you in a cell and who knows if you'll get let back out.

Let us expand on that namely on application list all your family links along with social media accounts with passwords. Then on arrival they search your phone looking for negative US or Trump comments or media. Getting denied entry and kicked out is nice compared to if something is wrong with your application or you overstay (even at their request) when then jail time, denied communication, then lots possible I would not desire to state.

I'd be thinking that I've landed in a non-English speaking destination. The question should begin with a 'Why".

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I firmly believe food is the thing that can unite cultures.

2 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Isn't Japan known for their obsession with American BBQ?

2 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Texas is a state where barbecue is basically the main religion behind Christianity

2 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I remember the trailers for some movie a few years ago. A gentleman from India wanted to go to the hometown of some famous rock slash country singer? And there was a questioning at Customs where he was asked what the purpose of his visit was.

"*city name*"

Customs: I can't question anyone who would not visit the birthplace of an American hero. Enjoy your stay

Graceland? Although Elvis wasn't really that country I guess.

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No it wasn't Graceland. I remember that much. Post 2010 I'm pretty sure. His family didn't approve of the music. My brain says maybe Johnny Cash?

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Blinded by the Light.

2 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Clearly flew into Dallas.

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Terry blacks in deep ellum was my first guess

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Terry B is so good, Pecan Lodge is as well.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I used to work right across the street from PL, we would trade sliders for bbq. Those were the days.

Back when te USA was good, a Pedo was not President and they still had the Gulf of Mexico

2 days ago | Likes 128 Dislikes 6

awwww... you're not going to stand up for Greg Abbott ?

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The US was never good. It just hadn't yet shat all over itself.

2 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

It's still the Gulf of Mexico, just the deranged fuckers started calling it something else. And we've never really been "good" just more subtly "evil".

2 days ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

We still have the Gulf of Mexico

2 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The US was never that good, it just had a more competent PR team. The rot that spawned the likes of Trump has always been there.

2 days ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

but it really ramped up after 2001. For me, that is the visible TURNINGPOINT.

2 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Tell that to central and south america

I've always wondered, is this real? Because it's fucking hilarious, if so.

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Real as in what? It was filmed before ai if that’s what you mean.

2 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I guess as in is he actually saying that (I've never heard it with sound) and is it a genuine response from him to all the "Thanks Obama" stuff that was going around.

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He is saying it, and it is a response to the "Thanks, Obama" stuff, but it was a BuzzFeed video, not like an official press release or anything, so depends how deeply you want to consider "genuine" I guess lol

2 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

man did his reaserch, not a bad state to go for bbq

2 days ago | Likes 183 Dislikes 4

Beef, yes. Pork, not so much. Unless you like to go in dry

2 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It is Texas though, so most other things are pretty shit.

2 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Texas is great but so is Memphis especially during Memphis in May. Great BBQ and music.

2 days ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Personally prefer NC bbq, but Memphis is really good.

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I argued with a guy online about whether Memphis or KC had better BBQ. But neither of us had had the other one. So we really can't argue.

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Disagree, go to the Carolinas.

2 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Do you prefer sweet and smoky or more vinegary? I've been to Redneck BBQ Lab in NC, and it's really good.

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As much as I like to talk shit about eastern North Carolina producing barbecue as God intended, I love all barbecue. Well-made Texas style is fucking awesome. I haven't met a style I don't like when it's done well.

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's nothing special. We have been able to replicate it - and improve it - in California for over 100 years. TX bbq is good, but it's in TX.

2 days ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 7

Yeah that’s the whole thing, it’s fine if they make the best anything, but if it’s in Texas they can keep it, I’ll never go again.

2 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I've lived over 20 years in each state and California BBQ doesn't come close? The only way CA is better is that you can eat it in CA.

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

You need to find better cooks or restaurants.

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

I lived in Texas for a couple years. I was disappointed in Texas BBQ

2 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

That's because you were too late to go to Stubb's. I mean the real Stubb's before he died, not the sham I found in Austin a few years ago.

2 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Is that why it sucked!?

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes. It used to be a completely different thing when he was alive. I was appalled at the place I found. It has been something like 30 years, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, but I dunno, I thought people would want to preserve the legacy. He had such an impact on the music.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honestly the best BBQ in Texas was at a smoked meat store within a gas station near round rock. That place was great

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

its a good state for it, but so is kansas city missouri. I like saucey bbq.

2 days ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 3

Recently moved out of KC, and my family immediately sent me a care package of all of the best KC BBQ sauces. Every home should have this

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

sawuce~

2 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But then you also have to be in Missouri, which I think is a large negative

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Love Texas brisket, Memphis dry rub, NC mustard sauce and KC sauce too. I love that all those options are available.

2 days ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

try montreal smoked meat

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That NC mustard sauce on a pulled pork sandwich... mmmm

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Real talk some of the best Italian food I've ever had was in STL. Gotta find the name of it, fried spinach was out of this world

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

alabama white sauce however, its does exist on the spectrum of bbq

2 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It exist, but it aint good.

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Oh? I've never been to Bama. Might have to investigate.

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's amazing on Chicken! Super simple to make at home, I would highly recommend!

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kentucky also does lamb bbq

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sir/ma'am/non-binary pal, it is SOUTH Carolina that does mustard sauce. NC sauce is hot pepper vinegar sauce.

Pulled pork with NC hot pepper vinegar sauce is PEAK.

2 days ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

THANK YOU! But we can’t forget the distinction between eastern and western NC bbq.

2 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm so much of a tourist that I had no idea that the sectarian divisions went so granular.

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it's all vinegar based for NC; I've only seen the mustard based sauce labeled as SC.

2 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's funny you mention that because east/west Carolinas is how we have the jurisdictions divided at my company. I imagine the differences stem from more than just bbq flavor disagreements...
