The perspective on that shot always throws me. Is he 7’ tall? Are those people being him dwarves?

$27 of that $28 ticket goes to the studio. That’s why the rest is so expensive, that’s where the movie theater actually makes their profit

In English! We don’t put spaces? Before those

Trust him, he’s French. You can tell because of the spaces before punctuation marks.

From what i remember from the comics, I don’t think it’s ever really explained, but it’s in-line with his habit of co-opting defeated villains, like the guy who made all the cyber-zombies

It’s a bit more complicated than just some greedy fucks. That’s just scapegoating.

As a consumer, if you can get the same product for $20 instead of $25, most people will get the $20 version. If you stick to making the $25 version, you’re gonna get undercut and go bankrupt.

Some tried to stem the bleeding with “Made in America” but that isn’t enough.

Guy’s a Yale grad and successful author.

Do not mistake sociopathic opportunism for stupidity.

“90% of everything is shit!” - Sturgeon’s Law

The cool old stuff is 1) what stood the test of time and 2) what we have childhood nostalgia for.

There certainly is a larger barrage of anime content these days, thanks to the market being bigger. There’s still great stuff being produced all the time (personal rec: Kaiju No9, for characters who aren’t idiot (except main character)).

It’s just part of a flood of content that hasn’t been filtered for you yet.

Interviewing is an absolute soul-destroying gauntlet. Outside of using some dubious matchmaking service that could magically find the perfect fit position for you, it’ll always be a matter of interviewing for a bunch of positions and get rejected until there is a match.

Rejection hurts.

If fire department needs to shut off power they do not want to have to download the app.

I guess comfort food peaked with that combo

I once bought a few packs of Feb 15 Valentines chocolate.

I love chocolate and that shit was bad. Like “a good excuse to break up because are you trying to poison me” terrible

For a country in the Top 10 highest GDP per Capita in the world (behind a few tax havens, Iceland, and Norway), one certainly wonders where all that frickin’ GDP goes

Knowing the quality of US police, I’m betting slightly above even odds that it’s steroids.

Where’s the screenshot of the one where the GF sent the guy to make the transaction because she was afraid of strangers, turns out the other also sent their BF, and then both BFs went to have a beer together q

Recently i was looking to upgrade my wifi infrastructure. Eero was recommended in a few spots. Then i found out they were owned by Amazon. That’s a veto.

Journalism is a skilled trade that requires work to produce. Otherwise you just get regurgitated press releases and AI slop.

404 Media and Politico are pretty good in the US.

In my fairly latino area, Chick-Fil-A is always packed to the point that it’s a bit of a traffic nuisance…

Unpopular opinion: we’re way past the point where the original purpose of the 2nd can even work.

Not that I’ll stop anybody from trying.

(which is news to me because some years ago my cousin went to spit on the monument because of Franco’s presence)

What I'm saying is, when Trump dies, expect big eulogies and shows of respect from the government.
Silver lining from Franco's story: in 2017 the government voted in a landslide to have his remains removed from the monument, which finally happened in 2019 after defending legal challenges from his family
