No, this is bullshit individualism. We are not all in separate boats, because the metaphorical boat is society, and we'd do well to remember even in fair weather that if we allow the lower parts to flood that it's too late for the top decks.
The reason that one is iffy is that it's not "Jews" - Israel does not represent all Jews and is in fact not a wholly Jewish state. Furthermore, the willingness of the West to forgive Israel's crimes against humanity has less to do with Israel holding power over them, and more with Israel serving their interests in the Middle East. To say that "Jews" are responsible for all this shit is not just inaccurate, but denies our own culpability.
But I mean, if multinational corporations can centrally command their own internal supply and demand structures, if they can use algorithms to do micro-targeted advertising and ship whatever you want directly to your door - surely we could use this technology for good, and meet the actual needs of the people?
Sure, just because they couldn't figure it out a century ago that doesn't mean the problem forever can't be solved. The USSR started from the underdeveloped Tsarist economy and the ruins of a civil war, and yet it industrialised on an unprecedented pace. However, the economy of the USSR was never allowed to develop freely; it remained as "siege economy", as I think Parenti called it. And they did not have access to our advances in computing.
#36 I reckon this was penned by a deeply closeted housewife who picked up a word or two googling things that her pastor must never know about
#9 There are clearly rain clouds too, though - and it just occurs to me that that's the point of the aphorism. If there's rainbows, it's not a clear sunny sky.
Standin' around like a pillock
The irony is that French has the Académie Française, which evaluates each individual word that's allowed to officially enter the French language, and English has no language authority at all.
Why do we need them to be separate? Surely my widgets can be cheaper still if they're not required to make a profit?
It's the same thing under capitalism.
"Liberals are bad because they're on the same side as the fascists" "SO FASCISTS ARE BETTER??" dude
Why do we have to have both, actually?
Can you list all the socialist and communist countries in the world?
I don't think his war machines were put to real use. He made a living painting, mostly. Dude just liked doodling tanks.
Commenting and blocking is a coward's tactic. And I can see why someone would if they define socialism along the lines of "socialism is government regulations" because that is completely indefensible to anyone who spends five minutes thinking about it.
Can't find the exact passage but I'm reminded of Marx writing about how capitalism introduced a form of crisis that was unthinkable in previous eras, a crisis of overproduction.
Some people have the excuse of ignorance - and great efforts are made to keep people ignorant. But once people are made aware of the senseless cruelty of the system, they have a choice to make: they either condemn the system, or they consciously embrace cruelty. I think that's when cruelty becomes the point.
On the plus side it made me research the real history of pizza and I discovered it is actually way older than I thought! First explicit written mention is from AD 779 but possible references are found in the Aeneid and on murals in Pompeii.
"We have no compassion and we ask no compassion from you. When our turn comes, we shall not make excuses for the terror..."
I mean all I did was point out that you literally already agree with actual communists, despite what you think communists think.
lol, very mature, blocking me after an angry outburst full of projection. Classic.
Communists support the working class. That's what this measure does. You're literally repeating Marxist analysis btw, though you don't seem to be aware.
That's... not even what she said. And if you can save $365 on the last day then why not just do that every day?
McMansion Hell energy
You mean... taxes?
Communism is not a dirty word, even if they try to make it one. I mean, sure, this isn't communism - but it is in line with communist values. Every communist supports socialism.
This but unironically.
You're both wrong and indoctrinated by Cold War propaganda. Socialism is a government run by the working class in the interests of the working class, and abolishing private property is one of its goals, so that the bourgeoisie can be eliminated as a class, so we can transition to communism, a classless society, wherein resources are held in common. Those are the actual meanings of those words.
It's not communism but it's a step in the right direction (communism).
Actually, if I may issue a correction, the stated reason for killing them was "that was unacceptable to the president". Don't believe this was a strategic decision, even an ill-formed one. It was a hurt feelings decision.
