@OP, is this the same/different for buying bamboo flooring? Looking at installing bamboo in the next year or so.
Also look into bereavement support services - you won’t regret the extra support, even if you think you can get through it alone.

I have found that my grocery bill is less when I’m buying “real” food, because I eat more filling meals so not spending money on empty gals.
Look into Hear Me Now, a StoryCorp partnership with a healthcare system. They have hospice patients that participate.
Usually not subject to tax though, so may not be far off from your typical take home pay.
