Backpaddling after the backlash. His initial response was very different. In addition: the anti-LGBTQ assholes came to the parade and started the violence. Then going "the LGBTQ-people should leave the kids alone" is a BS thing to say. And thirdly: We all know the dog-whistle of "LGBTQ = pedophiles" or "they prey on our kids and want to "turn" them". What he wrote was exactly that. if he meant something different then he should have written that. Or should have taken down his post.

That's not what gatekeeping is. Gatekeeping means stuff like "Oh? You're a gamer? Name 5 games you 100%ed!" or "You can't call yourself an anime fan if you haven't watched all these specific animes that I think are important" or "You aren't part of my community if you haven't done xyz arbitrary things"
