Both of my parents have already confirmed that they had kids so that they would have someone to take care of them when they're older.
Driver did good, didn't actually hit, but he's driving a large car and should've known he needed more space.
CDL holders have more records than common drivers called a PSP or Pre-employment Screening Program it doesn't affect common drivers and is DOT based for companies. They put notices from previous employers to prospective employers on written warnings received.
A warning will still affect your record if you're a CDL holder and they can't be fought in court, but a ticket you have a good chance of it just being dismissed since the cop is supposed to be there for court and they commonly won't if it's just a simple speeding ticket unless they have nothing better to do.
A ticket you can fight, a warning you can't. But yes, as long as you're respectful, and it's nothing major, they'll normally just give a verbal warning.
If they show you the radar gun, always make sure to ask the follow-up question of can I see its certification. Cops are supposed to get the radar guns re-certifide every 6 months guaranteed but calibrated every shift.

There was a company that sold cookware with a PFOA coating to prevent sticking and then were dumping it in a river where a farmer watered his cows. The cows got sick and died, but the EPA said he was at fault. He brought in his own investigators and found they lied. They sold it for years, YEARS, and finally paid out to a total of $670 million in 2017. Look up, Dupont PFOA scandal.
The police have no such duty to even respond to the calls. It has been taken before multiple courts, including the Supreme Court, and it has been upheld that the police have no such duty to protect people or risk their lives. They have become awfully similar to state/federal sponsored knee breakers(or closer to the Pinkertons).

I personally have been looking to buy a shotgun(with non-lethal shells) just for my house if someone breaks in(I live in a high crime area), but even I know that a criminal isn't going to ring the doorbell. If someone rings the doorbell at my house, it's either a delivery person or my neighbor.
I unfortunately work a 12 day fortnight(6 days/week for the ignorant)
